Shrub Diversity and Niche Characteristics in the Initial Stage of Reconstruction of Low-Efficiency Cupressus funebris Stands [PDF]
The upper reaches of the Yangtze River are a very important ecological barrier in China, but the ecological benefits of large-scale Cupressus funebris Endl.plantations are low. This study investigated 12 plantations of different compositions and densities, including two densities of Cinnamomum septentrionale Hand.-Mazz.

Composition of a Pyrolytic oil from Cupressus funebris Endl. of Vietnamese origin
Flavour and Fragrance Journal, 2006AbstractA sample of pyrolytic oil of Vietnamese origin, extracted from Cupressus funbris Endl. was investigated by GC‐RI, GC‐MS and 13C‐NMR spectroscopy. In the pyrolytic oil, dominated by sesquiterpenes (76% of the total composition), 46 components were identified after repeated silica gel chromatography.

Biflavones and the affinities of Cupressus funebris
Phytochemistry, 1987Abstract The biflavonyl profile of Cupressus funebris consists of major amounts of amentoflavone and cupressuflavone, minor concentrations of hinokiflavone, 7″-monomethylhinokiflavone, and a monomethylrobustaflavone, and traces of monomethylamentoflavone and cupressuflavone derivatives.

Flavonoid-Induced Acute Nephropathy by Cupressus funebris Endl (Mourning Cypress)
American Journal of Kidney Diseases, 2006Worldwide use of herbal therapy has increased dramatically in recent years. Most herbal therapies were not regulated as medicines, and their adverse effects often were underreported. We report a patient who developed acute renal failure, acute hepatic failure, autoimmune hemolytic anemia, and thrombocytopenia after oral intake of hot-water extract of ...

Conservation Genetics Resources, 2012
Cupressus funebris Endl. (Cupressaceae) is an endemic conifer species in central and eastern China. In order to investigate the genetic diversity within and between populations and design the effective conservation strategies, we aimed to develop microsatellite markers for this species in the present study.

Response of Cupressus funebris Tissue Cultures to Gibberellins
Science, 1960Gibberellins are a specific growth requirement of tissue cultures derived from the staminate cones of Cupressus funebris . The tissue originally required coconut milk for growth. However, a mixture of acid-hydrolyzed casein hydrolyzate and gibberellins replaces the coconut milk entirely and permits even better ...

The effects of heat treatment on Cupressus funebris Endl. wood were examined under different combinations of temperature, time, and pressure. The chemical composition, crystallinity, and microstructure of heat-treated wood flour and specimens were characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR ...

The Dendrolimus houi, a phytophagous pest, displays a broad range of adaptations and often inflicts localized damage to its hosts. Cupressus funebris, an indigenous timber species in China, is significantly impacted by D. houi. Investigating the suitable habitat distribution and changes in D. houi and its host plant, C.

Assessing the Genetic Diversity and Genealogical Reconstruction of Cypress (Cupressus funebris Endl.) Breeding Parents Using SSR Markers [PDF]
To identify genetic diversity, genetic structure and the relationship among accessions, and further establish a core collection for the long-term breeding of cypress (Cupressus funebris Endl.), the genealogy of breeding parents was reconstructed using simple sequence repeat (SSR) molecular markers.

The Botanical Source of Chinese Cedarwood Oil:Cupressus funebrisor Cupressaceae Species?
Journal of Essential Oil Research, 2008Abstract Cupressus funebris is generally regarded as the botanical source of Chinese cedarwood oil. However, due the limited amount of mature forest trees of C. funebris in China, other species in the Cupressaceae that have wood oils high in α-cedrene, β-cedrene, thujopsene and cedrol might be utilized for cedarwood oil production.
