Thromboembolic and bleeding complications in patients with oesophageal cancer
A total of 511 patients who underwent curative chemoradiotherapy and subsequent tumour resection for oesophageal cancer were reviewed retrospectively for bleeding events and arterial or venous thromboembolism (VTE). Following propensity adjustment for stage, age and sex, neoadjuvant therapy was not associated with survival. Tumour regression is a powerful prognostic indicator, and future research should focus on identifying patients who will derive the most benefit from neoadjuvant chemotherapy.

In a register‐based study of 22 586 Danish patients with colorectal cancer who had intended curative surgery, a low incidence of metachronous peritoneal metastasis (M‐PM) was found. Risk factors for M‐PM were advanced T and N status and right‐sided colonic tumour.
