Cure Kinetics and Rheology

2021
Impregnation and cure process are decisive for the final properties of a fiber reinforced composite material. Both processes strongly depend on the cure kinetics and the rheology of a resin system. Nanoparticles strongly influence both, the viscosity and the cure kinetics and must be evaluated carefully to exploit the beneficial effects of ...

Kinetics of oligomer curing

Russian Chemical Reviews, 2008
Common and specific features of formation of polymer networks by addition polymerisation and polycondensation of oligomers are analysed. The kinetic peculiarities of these processes related to the structure of an oligomeric liquid and some aspects of the supramolecular organisation of polymers are considered.

A kinetic model for plasmid curing

Plasmid, 1989
A simple mathematical model of drug-induced plasmid elimination (curing) considering density-dependent growth rates and plasmid transfers is presented. It describes nonlinear population dynamics of conjugative plasmids during in vitro curing experiments in batch culture.

Cure kinetics of light-activated polymers

Journal of Polymer Science Part B: Polymer Physics, 1998
The purpose of this article is to develop a mathematical model that de- scribes photocure and photopolymerization kinetics. This model is neither wholly phenomenological nor mechanistic, but contains elements of both. We draw an analogy between the classical Avrami approach for first-order phase transformations and the kinetic phenomena that occur ...

Curing kinetics of epoxy resins

Journal of Polymer Science: Polymer Symposia, 1975
AbstractCuring kinetics of some epoxy systems was studied by means of differential scanning calorimetry. We examined the influence of a few nitrogenous curing agents with different chemical structures on the rate of curing; different levels of the accelerator were tested. We also investigated the influence of two different resins on the rate of curing.

Cure reaction kinetics of polyamide

Thermochimica Acta, 1985
Abstract The kinetic parameters and the heat of polymerisation for the cure reaction of reactive polyamide (made from dimer acid) with epoxide have been established using DSC. The values of energy of activation and pre-exponential factor, show a systematic trend with the heat of polymerisation for near-stoichiometric formulations.

Monitoring of cure kinetic prepreg and cure cycle modeling

Journal of Materials Science, 2006
Cure kinetic model is an integral part of composite process simulation, which is used to predict the degree of curing and the amount of the generated heat. The parameters involved in kinetic models are usually determined empirically from isothermal or dynamic differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) data.

Curing kinetics and optimal cure schedules for underfill materials

Microelectronics Journal, 2000
The curing reactions and optimal schedules of three promising flip-chip underfill materials under isothermal and nonisothermal treatments are reported. It is found that curing reactions for three-tested underfill materials are autocatalytic, and the cure rate can be well described by the corresponding model.

Differential scanning calorimetry of epoxy cure: isothermal cure kinetics

Thermochimica Acta, 1976
The curing reactions of diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A with m-phenylene diamine (m-PDA) were studied with a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) under isothermal conditions in the range 50–150°C. A computerized data acquisition system was used to collect and process rate and integral heat of reaction data during cure.

Curing Reaction and Kinetics

2017
The study of polymerization kinetics is of great interest in dentistry, particularly for restorative composites. Most commonly, those materials are composed of multimethacrylate monomers, photopolymerized to give a cross-linked polymer network. The rate at which that reaction takes place influences not only the final degree of conversion (extent of ...
