Effect of chemotherapy on passenger mutations in metastatic colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Changes in passenger mutation load and predicted immunotherapy response after chemotherapy treatment. Tumor cells rich with passenger mutations have increased sensitivity to chemotherapy. Correlation of passenger mutations with neoantigen load suggests highly mutated clones promote a more effective response to immunotherapy, and therefore, first‐line ...

Parametric Numerical Study and Multi-Objective Optimization of Composite Curing through Infrared Radiation

open access: yesApplied Mechanics
Composite curing through infrared radiation (IR) has become a popular autoclave alternative due to lower energy costs and short curing cycles. As such, understanding and measuring the effect of all parameters involved in the process can aid in selecting ...

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Towards a better binder for pervious concrete: A case study on the flexural strength of fibre-reinforced high-strength cementitious paste (F-HSCP) under different curing conditions

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials
Adding fibres can help increase the performance of the binder and, thus, the mechanical performance of the pervious concrete. However, their performance under various curing conditions is questionable.

Adhesive joint evaluation by ultrasonic interface and lamb waves [PDF]

open access: yes
Some results on the application of interface and Lamb waves for the study of curing of thin adhesive layers were summarized. In the case of thick substrates (thickness much more than the wave length) the interface waves can be used.

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Solidification of APC residues using PFA

open access: yes, 2009
A pulverised fuel ash (pfa) classed as a waste due to high loss on ignition (LoI) was blended with waste alkali and used to solidify air pollution control (APC) residue from a waste incinerator.
