Optimal cure steps for product quality in a tire curing process

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1999
Numerical algorithms and computer programs have been developed to determine optimal cure steps in a tire curing process. A dynamic constrained optimization problem was formulated with the following ingredients: (1) an objective function that measures product quality in terms of final state of cure and temperature history at selected points in a tire ...

Variation in Autobody Adhesive Curing Process

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1999
<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Adhesive joining is a common autobody subassembly technique especially for outer panels, where visible spot welding is objectionable. To accommodate mass production with the use of certain adhesives very high thermal gradient usually exists, which may result in panel dimensional ...

Monitoring device of resin curing process

2016 39th International Spring Seminar on Electronics Technology (ISSE), 2016
The presented article introduces a system for resin curing monitoring. The system is based on a combined sensor built on a ceramic substrate containing a heating element for independent surface heating, interdigital electrodes, and a Pt1000 thermistor for precise temperature measurements.

Dual-cure processes: towards deformable crosslinked coatings

Macromolecular Symposia, 2002
Two dual-cure processes consisting of a UV-initiated radical polymerization followed by either a UV-induced cationic polymerisation, or a thermal addition reaction, were investigated. The feasibility of the processes was studied using an acrylate-oxetane monomer for the UV/UV combination, and an acrylated oligoester for the UV/Heat combination.

Intelligent Automated Cure Processing of Polyimides

MRS Proceedings, 1993
AbstractAn intelligent, closed-loop expert system has been developed for the widely used high performance polyimide PMR-15. This expert system has been used for intelligent, automated sensor/model control of the fabrication of flat panels in both the autoclave and the thermal press. Panels have been made, ranging in thickness from less than 1/8 inch to

Characterization of Epoxy Prepreg Curing Process

The Journal of Adhesion, 2006
ABSTRACT The isothermal and dynamic curing process of epoxy composite was studied using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), and other techniques. The variation of degree of curing with time and temperature was analyzed.

STUDY ON CURING KINETICS AND CURING PROCESS OF CF/BPR COMPOSITE

2017
The heating rate had the effect on the compressive strength of CF/BPR and should be considered during the conventional heating curing process of CF/BPR. With increasing heating rate during the curing process, the micro-cracks increased and the compressive strength of CF/BPR decreased.

Calculation of Cure Process Variables During Cure of Graphite/Epoxy Composites

1983
A model is presented that relates the cure cycle (cure temperature, cure pressure, cure time) to the local temperature, viscosity, degree of cure of the resin, and resin flow perpendicular to the fibers. The results of the model are applicable to the curing process for epoxy matrix composites.

The Process and Product of Cure

Transactional Analysis Journal, 1980
Curative psychotherapy involves both a process and a product. In preparing for this journal article, I decided to ask some of my “cured” patients what they believed had contributed to their successf...
