In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

FBG-Based UV-Curing Kinetics Analysis by Exothermic Behavior
Since photo-induced polymerization of the ultra-violet (UV)-curing adhesive from a fluid state to a solid state is an exothermic process, the UV curing exothermic behavior can be regarded as a potential evaluation methodology to analyze UV-curing ...

When is a network epidemic hard to eliminate?
We consider the propagation of a contagion process (epidemic) on a network and study the problem of dynamically allocating a fixed curing budget to the nodes of the graph, at each time instant.

Polyimide (PI) films by chemical vapor deposition (CVD): Novel design, experiments and characterization [PDF]
Polyimide (PI) has been deposited by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) under vacuum over the past 20 years. In the early nineties, studies, experiences and characterization were mostly studied as depositions from the co-evaporation of the dianhydride and ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Thermo-mechanical properties of commercially available epoxy resins for structural applications [PDF]
Externally bonded (EB) or Near-Surface-Mounted (NSM) composite reinforcements are often bonded to a cementitious substrate by means of commercially available epoxies.

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Method of neutralizing the corrosive surface of amine-cured epoxy resins [PDF]
The corrosive alkaline surface layer of an epoxy resin product formed by the curing of the epoxy with an aliphatic amine is eliminated by first applying a non-solvent to remove most or all of the free unreacted amine and then applying a layer of a ...

A lower bound on the performance of dynamic curing policies for epidemics on graphs
We consider an SIS-type epidemic process that evolves on a known graph. We assume that a fixed curing budget can be allocated at each instant to the nodes of the graph, towards the objective of minimizing the expected extinction time of the epidemic.

Stereolithography Cure Process Modeling Using Acrylate Resin [PDF]
In this paper, a complex stereolithography (SL) cure process model is presented that incorporates transient thermal and chemical effects which influence final part shape and properties.
