Current-mode frequency discriminators

42nd Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems (Cat. No.99CH36356), 2003
Current-made frequency discriminators are introduced which can be realized by cascading current-mode sections, and design information is provided. A fifth order design example is given which provides 24 dB/octave attenuation at high frequencies. This circuit uses only three current conveyors.

Current-Mode Filters

2014
Voltage-mode filters and especially their linearity and dynamic range suffer from the low supply voltages of deep-sub-micron and nanometer CMOS. This fact served as motivation to investigate current-mode filters with the hope for a better linearity and larger dynamic range. Current-mode filters also may allow saving of current-to-voltage and voltage-to-

Current mode sense amplifier

48th Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2005., 2005
In modern SRAMs, sense amplifiers are used to amplify the bit line swing in order to decrease access time. This paper seeks to present some new designs to improve the input and output impedance of the current mode sense amplifier. Two distinct groups of architectures are evaluated, and simulations were conducted for each group.

Current-mode precision rectification

International Journal of Electronics, 1995
This paper describes a simple and versatile current-mode full-wave precision rectifier circuit using AD844 from Analog Devices. The proposed scheme avoids the use of closely matched resistors and matched current mirrors. The circuit is easy to design and construct from readily available low-cost components and provides excellent precision rectifier ...

Current-Mode Instrumentation Amplifiers Based on Various Current-Mode Building Blocks

2018
In this chapter current-mode instrumentation amplifiers (CMIAs) implemented with different current-mode building blocks are discussed. Various structures are classified into four categories based on their input and output signals, i.e. current input current output (I-I) or pure CMIA, current input voltage output (I-V) or trans-impedance CMIA, voltage ...

Merged current mode logic

1984 IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference. Digest of Technical Papers, 1984
The use of down and up transistors to form nonsaturating and merged current mode logic resulting in a power-delay product of 0.1pJ for power dissipation less than 50μW/gate and a minimum delay of 1.6ns at 200μW/gate will be described.

Cascadable Current-Mode Biquads

Analog Integrated Circuits and Signal Processing, 1997
New procedures are presented that yield cascadable, opamp based current-mode biquads from voltage-mode biquads without the use of voltage-mode to current-mode transformations. The opamps in the resulting current-mode circuits can be replaced by current-mode devices, such as current conveyors, producing circuits that are fully current-mode.

Analogue Current Mode Circuits

International Journal of Electrical Engineering & Education, 1989
Circuits designed to use current as the active parameter can often outperform by a significant margin the more traditional voltage mode formulations. Many wideband circuit functions and new design opportunities are available by using current mirrors and current conveyors as basic building blocks.

Current-mode signal processing

17th Convention of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in Israel, 2002
The trend of lowering the supply voltages to 3.3 V of mixed analog-digital VLSI circuits has renewed the interest in current-mode signal processing, which employs current as signal parameter and therefore minimizes voltage swings. Some old, and several recently published current-mode circuits are reviewed.

Current-mode network transformations

Proceedings of IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems - ISCAS '94, 2002
Current-mode network transformations are presented from which it is possible to generate new current-mode circuits by performing simple operations on the network. These transformations are developed by interchanging the ports of a current-mode circuit and exploiting the properties of current-conveyors and RC networks.
