Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Analytical prediction with multidimensional computer programs and experimental verification of the performance, at a variety of operating conditions, of two traveling wave tubes with depressed collectors [PDF]

open access: yes
Experimental and analytical results are compared for two high performance, octave bandwidth TWT's that use depressed collectors (MDC's) to improve the efficiency.

Ion sputter textured graphite electrode plates [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
A specially textured surface of pyrolytic graphite exhibits extremely low yields of secondary electrons and reduced numbers of reflected primary electrons after impingement of high energy primary electrons.

Identifying Current Collectors that Enable Light–Battery Interactions

open access: yesSmall Methods
AbstractIn recent years, there has been an increased focus on studying light–battery interactions in the context of operando optical studies and integrated photoelectrochemical energy harvesting. However, there has been little insight into identifying suitable “light‐accepting” current collectors for this class of batteries.

In vitro properties of patient serum predict clinical outcome after high dose rate brachytherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Following high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR‐BT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), patients were classified as responders and nonresponders. Post‐therapy serum induced increased BrdU incorporation and Cyclin E expression of Huh7 and HepG2 cells in nonresponders, but decreased levels in responders.

Review of Current Collector-, Binder-, Conductive Additive-Free, and Freestanding Electrodes in Lithium and Related Batteries

open access: yesBatteries
Because current collectors (CCs), Binders (BDs), and conductive additives (CAs) in cathodes and anodes do not directly contribute to charging and discharging, they decrease the energy density of the battery.

Corrosion Study of Current Collectors for Magnesium Batteries

open access: yesBatteries & Supercaps
AbstractFor rechargeable magnesium batteries, chlorine‐containing electrolytes are used because chlorine species reduce the energy barrier for the intercalation process at the cathode. However, these species can cause corrosion of the cathode‐side current collectors during polarization. In this study, carbon‐coated aluminum and Nickel metal substrates,
