Maps of current density using density-functional methods

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2008
The performance of several density-functional theory (DFT) methods for the calculation of current densities induced by a uniform magnetic field is examined. Calculations are performed using the BLYP and KT3 generalized-gradient approximations, together with the B3LYP hybrid functional. For the latter, both conventional and optimized effective potential

Current density distribution, limiting current density and saturation current density in an ion-exchange membrane electrodialyzer

Journal of Membrane Science, 2002
Abstract The current density distribution in a seawater electrodialyzer is approximated by a quadratic equation. The equation is solved using a three-dimensional simultaneous equation, and the current density distribution and the coefficients expressing the current density distribution are calculated.

Current density in a perfect mirror

Optics Letters, 2008
Electromagnetic radiation incident upon a perfect mirror induces a current density on the surface of the conducting material of the mirror. It is shown that this surface current density can be expressed directly in terms of the source current density, which generates the incident field, without evaluating the electric and magnetic fields first.

Current density in HTSC current leads

Russian Electrical Engineering, 2016
The thermal state of high-temperature superconductor current leads is considered upon changes in the current density. A change of the thermal regime in the resistive section and at a point of contact between a normal conductor and superconductor is described. The factors limiting the current density in current leads are revealed.

Current Density Probes

IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1969
The theory, construction, and characteristics of a filament-type current density probe are described. Its application to the direct measurement of the magnitude and phase of current density in solid and liquid two-and three-dimensional geometries is presented.

EXPERIMENTS ON DENSITY AND TURBIDITY CURRENTS: II. UNIFORM FLOW OF DENSITY CURRENTS

Canadian Journal of Earth Sciences, 1966
The basic theory for the average velocity of uniform flow of a density current is now well established. The resistance at the bottom may be estimated from reasonable assumptions regarding the roughness of the bottom and the size of the current. The principal problem remaining is quantitative estimation of the resistance of the upper (fluid) interface ...

Canal Density Currents

2023
Three tests were conducted to provide basic data showing the effects of density currents for each of the three conditions in a sea-level canal connecting two seas and intercepting a channel carrying freshwater. Two cross-sectional areas of the canal were tested, 60,000 sq ft and 300,000 sq ft, with tidal ranges in one sea of 10.7 and 22 ft tested for ...
