Human mesenchymal stem cells - current trends and future prospective

open access: yesBioscience Reports, 2015
Stem cells are cells specialized cell, capable of renewing themselves through cell division and can differentiate into multi-lineage cells. These cells are categorized as embryonic stem cells (ESCs), induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and adult stem ...

Effective field theory and tunneling currents in the fractional quantum Hall effect

open access: yes, 2012
We review the construction of a low-energy effective field theory and its state space for "abelian" quantum Hall fluids. The scaling limit of the incompressible fluid is described by a Chern-Simons theory in 2+1 dimensions on a manifold with boundary. In

Transcriptome‐wide analysis of circRNA and RBP profiles and their molecular relevance for GBM

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CircRNAs are differentially expressed in glioblastoma primary tumors and might serve as therapeutic targets and diagnostic markers. The investigation of circRNA and RNA‐binding proteins (RBPs) interactions shows that distinct RBPs play a role in circRNA biogenesis and function.

Transcranial direct current stimulation alters cerebrospinal fluid-interstitial fluid exchange in mouse brain

open access: yesBrain Stimulation
Background: Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) is a non-invasive brain stimulation technique that has gained prominence recently. Clinical studies have explored tDCS as an adjunct to neurologic disease rehabilitation, with evidence suggesting

Current density and criticality branch-chain for a reactive Poiseuille second-grade hydromagnetic flow with variable electrical conductivity

open access: yesInternational Journal of Thermofluids, 2020
This study investigates the current density and branch-chain thermal criticality for a non-Newtonian hydromagnetic second-grade fluid flow in a Poiseuille device with varying electrical conductivity.

Perspective on machine learning for advancing fluid mechanics

open access: yesPhysical Review Fluids, 2019
A perspective is presented on how machine learning methods might advance fluid mechanics. Current limitations are discussed, though the potential impact is deemed high, so long as outcomes are held to the long-standing critical standards that should ...

Hot foil transducer skin friction sensor [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
The device utilizes foil transducers with only one edge exposed to the fluid flow. The surfaces are polished producing a foil transducer that does not generate turbulence while sufficiently thick to carry the required electrical current for high ...

Elucidating prognostic significance of purine metabolism in colorectal cancer through integrating data from transcriptomic, immunohistochemical, and single‐cell RNA sequencing analysis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low expression of five purine metabolism‐related genes (ADSL, APRT, ADCY3, NME3, NME6) was correlated with poor survival in colorectal cancer. Immunohistochemistry analysis showed that low NME3 (early stage) and low ADSL/NME6 (late stage) levels were associated with high risk.
