An electronic ballast for suppression of the input harmonic currents
Conference Record of the 2000 IEEE Industry Applications Conference. Thirty-Fifth IAS Annual Meeting and World Conference on Industrial Applications of Electrical Energy (Cat. No.00CH37129), 2002This paper proposes a novel electronic ballast having boost functions that can reduce the harmonics distortion of input current. The behavior of the electronic ballast is analyzed and experimental results are shown. The circuit makes an action as a charge pump in addition to the conventional boost action.

Current harmonic suppression for permanent magnet synchronous motors
2019 International Aegean Conference on Electrical Machines and Power Electronics (ACEMP) & 2019 International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (OPTIM), 2019This paper deals with problem of current harmonic suppression in permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM). First, the current harmonic model is considered in details in the dq coordinate frame. Then the current harmonic observer design is proposed to estimate online all harmonic components.

Research on suppression of harmonic current for magnetic control reactor
Journal of Computational Methods in Sciences and Engineering, 2015In this paper, equivalent mathematical model is set up for a five-stage magnetic valve reactor. Equivalent magnetization curve of cores is deduced for a five-stage magnetically controlled reactor. On the basis of multistage magnetic valve reactor equivalent circuit equations, harmonic current expression is drawn for multistage magnetic valve reactor ...

Current harmonics suppression of single-phase PWM rectifiers
2012 3rd IEEE International Symposium on Power Electronics for Distributed Generation Systems (PEDG), 2012The mechanism of current harmonics suppression of single-phase PWM rectifiers is comprehensively investigated. The impact from grid voltage distortions, dc bus ripples, and control scheme are elaborated. A mechanism based control scheme is proposed for the suppression of the current harmonics.

A novel filter structure to suppress harmonic currents based on the sequence of sideband harmonics
2017 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2017In this paper, a novel filter structure is proposed based on the sequence of PWM voltage harmonics. At first, the phase of voltage harmonics is thoroughly analyzed. Based on the phase difference between three phases, it is shown that the sideband harmonics can be divided into positive-sequence, negative-sequence and zero-sequence components.

Current Harmonic Suppression for Grid-Connected VSG Based on Virtual Harmonic Impedance
2019 10th International Conference on Power Electronics and ECCE Asia (ICPE 2019 - ECCE Asia), 2019When the inverter controlled as a virtual synchronous generator (VSG)is connected to the non-ideal grid, the grid current will be severely distorted, especially when the line impedance is relatively small. However, the commonly used voltage-type VSG at present cannot directly control the output current of the VSG. Thus, this paper presented a method of

Resonance Damping and Harmonic Suppression for Grid-Connected Current-Source Converter
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2014Due to the inductor-capacitor (LC) filter, a pulsewidth-modulation (PWM) current-source converter may experience LC resonance. The resonance can be excited by system harmonics either from the PWM process or from the grid voltage distortions and hence results in the line current distorted.

Analysis and suppression of the input second harmonic current in two-stage inverter
IECON 2014 - 40th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2014The instantaneous output power of a two-stage single-phase inverter pulsates at twice the output voltage frequency, generating second harmonic current (SHC) in the front-end dc-dc converter. Though reducing the SHC of the output filter inductor of the dc-dc converter (FIDC) can reduce the input SHC effectively, it depends on the capacitance of DC bus ...

Suppression of Narrow-Band Harmonics in the Input Current of Traction Vehicles
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1983Abstract Whan converter-fed drives are used on railway vehicles, harmonics in the input currant may be limited to a fairly wide band by passiva filter elements. Additional requirements have to be satisfied when the railway network contains signalling equipment that employs narrow-band, low-frequency test signals.
