Gating current harmonics. II. Model simulations of axonal gating currents

open access: yesBiophysical Journal, 1985
A kinetic model of sodium activation gating is presented. The kinetics are based on harmonic analysis of gating current data obtained during large-amplitude sinusoidal voltage clamp in dynamic steady state. The technique classifies gating kinetic schemes into groups based on patterns of the harmonic content in the periodic gating current records.

Anomalous Stiffening of a Conjugated Polymer During Electrochemical Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The electromechanical response of a thienothiophene‐based conjugated polymer with triethylene glycol side chains is investigated. Electrochemical nanoindentation and atomic force microscopy reveal a modest and reversible increase in elastic modulus at room temperature upon electrochemical oxidation.

Regulated Electric Drainage and its Interference with Track Circuits

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2018
Electric drainage is a power electronic device used to protect underground metal devices (such as piping) from the corrosive effects of stray currents. Stray currents are usually caused by DC electric traction, such as trams or railways.

Higher harmonics of ac voltage response in narrow strips of YBa2Cu3O7 thin films: Evidence for strong thermal fluctuations

open access: yes, 2005
We report on measurements of higher harmonics of the ac voltage response in strips of YBa2Cu3O7 thin films as a function of temperature, frequency and ac current amplitude.

Contact Lens with Moiré Patterns for High‐Precision Eye Tracking

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a passive contact lens for high‐precision eye tracking, integrating a microscopic moiré grating label. The parallax‐induced shift of macroscopic moiré patterns enables angle measurement with 0.28° precision using a standard camera under ambient light.

Dual-Loop-Based Current Controller for Transformerless Grid-Tied Converters with Improved Disturbance Attenuation against Voltage Measurement Errors

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
To eliminate current harmonics and to obtain enhanced dynamic behaviors, the voltage feedforward scheme is normally adopted in the control process of transformerless grid-tied converters.

Detection of the Vortex Dynamic Regimes in MgB2 by Third Harmonic AC Susceptibility Measurements

open access: yes, 2003
In a type-II superconductor the generation of higher harmonics in the magnetic response to an alternating magnetic field is a consequence of the non-linearity in the I-V relationship.

Cold Quad‐Modal Nanocomplex for Precise and Quantitative In Vivo Stem Cell Tracking

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Multimodal albumin–bismuth sulfide–superparamagnetic iron oxide (ABS) nanocomplexes are developed for stem cell tracking across four different imaging modalities: MRI, MPI, MSOT, and CT. Combining its flexibility with high sensitivity, this quad‐modal imaging agent enables a robust quantification of ABS‐labeled stem cells in vivo.

Two coupled Josephson junctions: dc voltage controlled by biharmonic current

open access: yes, 2012
We study transport properties of two Josephson junctions coupled by an external shunt resistance. One of the junction (say, the first) is driven by an unbiased ac current consisting of two harmonics.

Universal Electronic‐Structure Relationship Governing Intrinsic Magnetic Properties in Permanent Magnets

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Permanent magnets derive their extraordinary strength from deep, universal electronic‐structure principles that control magnetization, anisotropy, and intrinsic performance. This work uncovers those governing rules, examines modern modeling and AI‐driven discovery methods, identifies critical bottlenecks, and reveals electronic fingerprints shared ...
