Three dimensional simulations of sheared current sheets: transition to turbulence? [PDF]
Systems of multiple current sheets arise in various situations in natu ral plasmas, such as at the heliospheric current sheet in the solar wind and in the outer he liosphere in the heliosheath. Previous three-dimensional simulations have shown th at such

Design and Analysis of Compression–Torsion Coupling Metamaterials Using the Golden Section Method
A novel compression–torsion metamaterial is engineered using inclined rods and symmetry breaking. To optimize its torsional performance, the golden section method is employed. The mechanical response of the metamaterial is validated through both numerical analysis and experimental validation.

Resistive Tearing Mode Instability in Generalized Harris Current Sheets
The widely adopted initial force-balanced equilibrium prior to the occurrence of magnetic reconnection (MR) is the so-called Harris sheet model with antiparallel magnetic field.

Active Corrosion Protection of Sintered AA7075 Aluminum Alloy via Mn Powder Addition
AA7075 containing Mn‐rich particles is fabricated via spark plasma sintering using AA7075 and Mn powders. Corrosion resistance is evaluated through dip‐and‐dry tests using 0.1 M NaCl (pH 6.0), and mass loss decreases with increasing Mn addition. Mn‐rich particles function as a source of Mn ions, and formation of Mn‐accumulation films on Cu‐containing ...

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Safety stories resulting from research to practice:how to communicate occupational safety data?
Current methods of presenting data on risks are mainly focused on presenting the objective data such as accident statistics. However, research has shown that risks are not always understood objectively and quantitatively.

Biomass Native Structure Into Functional Carbon‐Based Catalysts for Fenton‐Like Reactions
This study indicates that eight biomasses with 2D flaky and 1D acicular structures influence surface O types, morphology, defects, N doping, sp2 C, and Co nanoparticles loading in three series of carbon, N‐doped carbon, and cobalt/graphitic carbon. This work identifies how these structural factors impact catalytic pathways, enhancing selective electron

Shellac, a centuries‐old natural resin, is reimagined as a green material for flexible electronics. When combined with silver nanowires, shellac films deliver transparency, conductivity, and stability against humidity. These results position shellac as a sustainable alternative to synthetic polymers for transparent conductors in next‐generation ...

Ion Kinetics in Thin Current Sheets at Lunar Distances
The magnetotail current sheet plays a crucial role in substorm dynamics, affecting the entire magnetosphere. Formation and reconnection of thin (ion‐gyroscale) current sheets initiate magnetospheric substorms. Theoretical models suggest that a transient,
