Direct velocity measurements in the Malvinas Current

Journal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, 1999
We present a set of current meter measurements collected in the southwest Atlantic from December 1993 to June 1995. Four moorings were set out to monitor the Malvinas (Falkland) Current at 40°–41°S, and one mooring was located within the Brazil‐Malvinas Front area at 38°S.

The measurement of current velocities in macrophyte beds

Aquatic Botany, 1991
Abstract The modification of a propeller-type flowmeter to measure current velocities within beds of submersed macrophytes in an improved way is presented. The instrument permits readings in a small cross-section of 0.05 m diameter, within short spatial distances, and without disturbing the internal structure of the plant stand.
