Homologous Fatty Acid Additives for Simultaneous Corrosion Suppression and Zn2+ Transport Enhancement in Aqueous Zinc‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 13, Issue 19, 1 October 2026.
Aqueous zinc‐ion batteries are viable for grid‐scale storage. Dendrites, corrosion, and hydrogen evolution hinder their deployment. Sodium salts of medium‐chain fatty acids (C12–C14) are chosen as electrolyte additive. They block side reactions while sustaining Zn2+ transport.

The GFDL's Aerosol Microphysics Model (GLAMM) Part 1: Model Description and Aerosol Evaluation With Observational Constraints

open access: yesJournal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems, Volume 18, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract This paper describes the development and application of GLAMM (GFDL's Aerosol Microphysics Model) within the GFDL atmospheric model AM4.0 framework. Unlike the bulk aerosol schemes previously used in AM4.0, GLAMM employs a modal representation that explicitly tracks the evolution of aerosol mass and number concentrations and accounts for ...

Rapid Physicochemical Screening of Parboiled Rice Using VNIR–SWIR Spectroscopy and Chemometrics

open access: yesJournal of Food Science, Volume 91, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Efficient quality assessment of parboiled rice is important for industrial processing, but conventional analytical procedures are often time‐consuming, reagent‐intensive, and destructive. This study evaluated VNIR–SWIR spectroscopy combined with chemometric modeling for the rapid prediction of moisture, starch, protein, lipids, fiber, and ash ...

Power Leveraging: The Everyday Expansion of the Grassroots State in Urban China

open access: yesLaw &Policy, Volume 48, Issue 4, October 2026.
ABSTRACT China has witnessed a notable expansion of state power during and after the pandemic, particularly at the grassroots level. How has this occurred? The Shequ, a grassroots state agent, has played a central role, taking on extensive administrative responsibilities aimed at enhancing social management, often at the expense of rule‐of‐law ...

Observational Constraints on Sea Salt Contribution to CCN Over the Southern Ocean

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 18, 28 September 2026.
Abstract Earth system models exhibit persistent biases in simulating cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) over the Southern Ocean and Antarctica, largely due to inadequate representation of aerosol sources. Here, we present year‐round (January 2023–February 2024) measurements of aerosol hygroscopicity (HTDMA), particle number size distribution (SMPS), and ...

Currents' physical components (CPC) concept in wind farm harmonic current studies

open access: yes
Very little information about actual wind farm harmonic measurements is available in the literature. This paper analyzes the harmonic measurements of an 18 MW wind farm with the CPC concept to determine if they are consumed or injected by the wind farm ...
