Null scrolls with prescribed curvatures in Lorentz-Minkowski 3-space
In Lorentz-Minkowski 3-space, null scrolls are ruled surfaces with a null base curve and null rulings. Their mean, as well as their Gaussian curvature, depends only on a parameter of a base curve. In the present paper, we obtain the first-order nonlinear

Blow-up analysis of conformal metrics of the disk with prescribed Gaussian and geodesic curvatures
This paper is concerned with the compactness of metrics of the disk with prescribed Gaussian and geodesic curvatures. We consider a blowing-up sequence of metrics and give a precise description of its asymptotic behavior.

Ricci Curvatures on Hermitian manifolds [PDF]
In this paper, we introduce the first Aeppli-Chern class for complex manifolds and show that the $(1,1)$- component of the curvature $2$-form of the Levi-Civita connection on the anti-canonical line bundle represents this class.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Extended Darboux frame curvatures of Frenet curves lying on parametric 3-surfaces
In this paper, we consider a Frenet curve lying on a parametric hypersurface in 4-dimensional Euclidean space and obtain the expressions of its curvatures with respect to the ...

On the critical level-curvature distribution
The parametric motion of energy levels for non-interacting electrons at the Anderson localization critical point is studied by computing the energy level-curvatures for a quasiperiodic ring with twisted boundary conditions.

Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

Spiral-bevel geometry and gear train precision [PDF]
A new aproach to the solution of determination of surface principal curvatures and directions is proposed. Direct relationships between the principal curvatures and directions of the tool surface and those of the principal curvatures and directions of ...

Peptide‐based ligand antagonists block a Vibrio cholerae adhesin
The structure of a peptide‐binding domain of the Vibrio cholerae adhesin FrhA was solved by X‐ray crystallography, revealing how the inhibitory peptide AGYTD binds tightly at its Ca2+‐coordinated pocket. Structure‐guided design incorporating D‐amino acids enhanced binding affinity, providing a foundation for developing anti‐adhesion therapeutics ...

Inverse Designing Surface Curvatures by Deep Learning
Smooth and curved microstructural topologies found in nature—from soap films to trabecular bone—have inspired several mimetic design spaces for architected metamaterials and bio‐scaffolds.
