Micropolar curved rods. 2-D, high order, Timoshenko’s and Euler-Bernoulli models
New models for micropolar plane curved rods have been developed. 2-D theory is developed from general 2-D equations of linear micropolar elasticity using a special curvilinear system of coordinates related to the middle line of the rod and special ...

Characteristics of motile curved rods in vaginal secretions [PDF]
Motile curved rods seen in vaginal secretions have been isolated on Columbia agar supplemented with 5% human blood and vitamin K. Growth occurred anaerobically and in 5% oxygen but not in more aerobic conditions. There were two distinct groups of these organisms, distinguishable by morphology, biochemical activity and susceptibility to metronidazole ...

ASYMPTOTIC BEHAVIOR OF STRUCTURES MADE OF CURVED RODS [PDF]
In this paper, we study the asymptotic behavior of a structure made of curved rods of thickness 2δ when δ tends to 0. This study is carried on within the frame of linear elasticity by using the unfolding method. It is based on several decompositions of the structure displacements and on the passing to the limit in fixed domains.

Theoretical Analysis of Thin Curved Rod Displacements
The paper presents a comparative theoretical analysis of the movements of the curved rods of various curvature forms, which can be applied as tools for ultrasonic treatment of holes in fragile materials.

Tendril Perversion in Intrinsically Curved Rods
This article deals with an inversion of handedness, or chirality, of a thin elastic rod with a certain structure along its axial coordinate, which the authors call intrinsic curvature. The inversion is known as a perversion phenomena, e.g., of a tendril.

The Nugent score is an inappropriate diagnostic tool for neovaginal bacteria in transfeminine people [PDF]
Background Many transfeminine people (assigned male at birth with feminine gender identities) undergo vaginoplasty, a surgical procedure constructing a neovagina, typically using penile and scrotal tissue.

Asymptotic behaviour of curved rods by the unfolding method [PDF]
AbstractWe consider in this work general curved rods with a circular cross‐section of radius δ. Our aim is to study the asymptotic behaviour of such rods as δ→0, in the framework of the linear elasticity according to the unfolding method. It consists in giving some decompositions of the displacements of such rods, and then in passing to the limit in a ...
