Summary: We examine various aspects of the medial axis representation of shapes, resulting in a novel, highly accurate skeletonization algorithm suitable for shapes with parametrically described boundaries such as, for example, polygons or ``spline''-gons.

ACM SIGCOMM Computer Communication Review, 2003
Relentless progress in hardware technology and recent advances in sensor technology, and wireless networking have made it feasible to deploy large scale, dense ad-hoc networks. These networks together with sensor technology can be considered as the enablers of emerging models of computing such as embedded computing, ubiquitous computing, or pervasive ...

Equiframed Curves ? A Generalization of Radon Curves
Monatshefte fr Mathematik, 2004Equiframed curves are planar centrally symmetric closed convex curves which are touched at each of their points by some circumscribed parallelogram of smallest area. Radon curves form a proper subclass of equiframed curves. The authors give a construction of an arbitrary equiframed curve by modifying a Radon curve appropriately.

The purpose of this programme is eventually to devise a reliable method for establishing the relationship between two variables, corresponding values of which have been obtained as a result of tests or experimentation. These results in practice are highly likely to include some errors, however small, due to the imperfect materials used, the limitations

A Growth Curve Analysis for EDP Curves
Applied Statistics, 1983Summary: A class of exponentially damped polynomial (EDP) regression models was suggested by the author and \textit{J. A. Tredger} [ibid. 30, 147-152 (1981; Zbl 0464.62093)] to describe biological recovery data. Certain specifications are made here on the distribution of parameters over individuals which lead to exact expressions for the unconditional ...
