On the Links of Simple Singularities, Simple Elliptic Singularities and Cusp Singularities

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica, 2015
This is a survey article about the study of the links of some complex hypersurface singularities in ℂ3 . We study the links of simple singularities, simple elliptic singularities and cusp singularities, and the canonical contact structures on them. It is

Infinitesimal deformations of cusp singularities

open access: yesMathematische Annalen, 1983
One constructs an explicit set of independent infinitesimal deformations of a two-dimensional cusp singularity and one formulates the conjecture that this spans the whole space \(T^ 1\) of infinitesimal deformations. As a corollary one gets Karras' result about non-rigidity of such singularities (due to Freitag and Kiehl, cusp singularities of ...

Symplectic invariants for parabolic orbits and cusp singularities of integrable systems. [PDF]

open access: yesPhilos Trans A Math Phys Eng Sci, 2018
We discuss normal forms and symplectic invariants of parabolic orbits and cuspidal tori in integrable Hamiltonian systems with two degrees of freedom. Such singularities appear in many integrable systems in geometry and mathematical physics and can be ...

Higher-order singularities in phase-tracked electromechanical oscillators [PDF]

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
Singularities ubiquitously exist in different fields and play a pivotal role in probing the fundamental laws of physics and developing highly sensitive sensors.

The continuity equation with cusp singularities [PDF]

open access: yesMathematische Annalen, 2017
In this paper we study a special case of the completion of cusp Kähler–Einstein metric on the regular part by taking the continuity method proposed by La Nave and Tian.

Explicit resolutions of cubic cusp singularities [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics of Computation, 1999
Resolutions of cusp singularities are crucial to many techniques in computational number theory, and therefore finding explicit resolutions of these singularities has been the focus of a great deal of research. This paper presents an implementation of a sequence of algorithms leading to explicit resolutions of cusp singularities arising from totally ...

Cusp singularities in f(R) gravity: pros and cons [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics, 2015
We investigate cusp singularities in f(R) gravity, especially for Starobinsky and Hu-Sawicki dark energy models. We illustrate that, by using double-null numerical simulations, a cusp singularity can be triggered by gravitational collapses.

On the Frobenius manifolds for cusp singularities

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematics, 2015
We show that the Frobenius manifold associated to the pair of a cusp singularity and it's canonical primitive form is isomorphic to the one constructed from the Gromov--Witten theory for an orbifold projective line with at most three orbifold points. We also calculate the intersection form of the Frobenius manifold.

Cusp Singularities in Boundary-Driven Diffusive Systems [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Physics, 2013
Boundary driven diffusive systems describe a broad range of transport phenomena. We study large deviations of the density profile in these systems, using numerical and analytical methods.
