Transcatheter aortic valve implantation complicated by papillary muscle rupture with a good final outcome

open access: yesAdvances in Interventional Cardiology, 2021
An 88-year-old patient with a history of coronary artery bypass grafting was referred for transfemoral transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) because of severe, symptomatic (NYHA III) aortic stenosis with coexisting renal failure and other ...

Calcium Shock Enables Efficient and Programmable Particle Delivery for Genome Editing Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Classical transfection and transduction are inefficient, particularly with confluent cells and organoids, and lack cell type‐specific programmability. This study presents calcium shock (CaSh), a method that dramatically improves particle delivery into single cells, colonies, and organoids.

Three-Dimensional Comparison of CBCT and Intraoral Scans for Assessing Orthodontic Traction of Impacted Canines with Clear Aligners

open access: yesDentistry Journal
Background: Canine impaction complicates treatment and prolongs duration, requiring precise localization. CBCT is the gold standard for diagnosis and assessment. However, it involves high radiation exposure and cost.

Successful Treatment of a Neonate with Idiopathic Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension with Inhaled Nitric Oxide via Nasal Cannula without Mechanical Ventilation. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We report a case study of a term neonate presenting with oxygen desaturation without respiratory distress or acidosis, despite receiving 100% oxygen through a nasal cannula.

Cuspidal Robots [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
This chapter is dedicated to the so-called cuspidal robots, i.e. those robots that can move from one inverse geometric solution to another without meeting a singular confuguration. This feature was discovered quite recently and has then been fascinating a lot of researchers.

RNF213 Is an Interferon‐Stimulated Gene That Targets Influenza A Virus NP and Activates MDA5 to Restrict Infection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
RNF213 is characterized as a dual‐functional antiviral effector. It directly mediates the degradation of the influenza A virus nucleoprotein (NP) while simultaneously activating the MDA5‐mediated innate immune signaling pathway. This coordinated response establishes a powerful host defense system against viral infection. ABSTRACT Influenza A virus (IAV)

Effect of occlusal relationship on periodontal parameters

open access: yesمجله دانشکده دندانپزشکی اصفهان, 2011
Introduction: The role of occlusal forces on dentition affected by periodontal diseases is not well known. Evidence suggests that high occlusal forces alter the extent of destruction and the nature of lesions.

Connexin43 Deficiency Leads to Ventricular Arrhythmias by Reprogramming Proline Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study demonstrated that connexin43 (Cx43) knockout caused arrhythmic phenotype and decreased proline content in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, Cx43 interacts with the amino acid transporter SNAT2 (sodium‐dependent neutral amino acid transporter), and its deficiency disrupts proline transport and metabolism.
