The skin as the first site of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is uncommon. Between 1967-1982 only 61 evaluable patients were seen; lymphoma was confined to the skin in 43. Most histological subtypes of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma were represented with diffuse histiocytic tumors accounting for 28 (46%).

Posttransplant cutaneous lymphoma
Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, 1993Posttransplant lymphoma is closely associated with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection and appears to have a predilection for extranodal sites. We describe four cases of primary cutaneous posttransplant lymphoma. Our aim was to determine cell lineage and any possible association with EBV in each case of cutaneous lymphoma.Tumor tissue was examined by ...

Fifteen cases of cutaneous follicular lymphoma were evaluated clinically, histologically, and immunologically. Nine of the patients presented with skin disease alone, which showed a predilection for the scalp and forehead. The six remaining cases had either concurrent or secondary cutaneous involvement.

AbstractCutaneous T cell lymphoma (CTCL) is a generic classification of clonally‐derived malignancies of phenotypic helper/inducer T cells with a propensity to infiltrate the skin, migrate into the epidermis, localize in T cell zones of lymphoid structures and spare the bone marrow.

Pathogenesis of Cutaneous Lymphomas
Seminars in Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery, 2000Cutaneous lymphomas are a heterogeneous group of lymphoproliferative disorders derived from T cells, B cells and, in rare cases, natural killer cells. The precise mechanisms of the lymphomagenesis are still obscure. However, there are various factors involved. These factors include environmental, especially infectious factors, translocations, mutations

New variants of cutaneous lymphoma other than mycosis fungoides and Sezary syndrome continue to be described.A practical classification of cutaneous lymphomas is presented with detailed discussions of angiocentric T cell lymphoma, subcutaneous T cell lymphoma, and malignant angioendotheliomatosis. The recent pertinent medical literature relating to ...

Controversies in cutaneous lymphomas
Seminars in Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery, 2000Recently great advances were achieved in the recognition and classification of primary cutaneous lymphomas. With this increased knowledge, one must realize that we must deal with new concepts that are sometimes confusing and controversial. The following controversial subjects are presented in this article: (1) Classification of cutaneous lymphomas; (2)

Primary cutaneous lymphomas have a distinct clinical behavior and prognosis, and therefore require a different therapeutic approach, as compared with their primary nodal equivalents. The European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) classification for primary cutaneous lymphomas recognizes a limited number of cutaneous T-cell ...

Primary cutaneous T- and B-cell lymphomas (CTCL and CBCL) are a heterogeneous group of lymphomas with a wide range of clinical manifestations, histology and prognosis. They belong to the group of non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas. The non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas are clonal proliferations of lymphoid cells with morphological and membrane properties of different ...
