Interactive video cutout [PDF]

open access: yesACM SIGGRAPH 2005 Papers, 2005
We present an interactive system for efficiently extracting foreground objects from a video. We extend previous min-cut based image segmentation techniques to the domain of video with four new contributions. We provide a novel painting-based user interface that allows users to easily indicate the foreground object across space and time.

Iterative Synthesis of Pyrene–Coronene Molecular Graphene Nanoribbons

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
An iterative approach delivers a new family of undoped, cove‐edged graphene nanoribbons with lengths up to 9.1 nm that exhibit both molar absorptivity and fluorescence brightness values on the order of 105 M−1 cm−1 and an intrinsic charge‐carrier mobility of 475 ± 32 cm2 V−1 s−1.

Experimental and numerical investigations on overall buckling of steel pipe truss with circular cutout on the compression element

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2019
Pitting corrosion, an extremely localized corrosion that leads to the creation of small holes in metal when a protective coating is damaged could trigger structural failure in platform structures.

Cement augmentation of the proximal femoral nail antirotation for the treatment of two intertrochanteric fractures - a comparative finite element study

open access: yesBMC Musculoskeletal Disorders, 2021
Background There are concerns regarding initial stability and cutout effect in proximal femoral nail antirotation (PFNA) treating intertrochanteric fractures. No study have used finite element analysis (FEA) to investigate the biomechanics.

A Modified Fourier–Ritz Formulation for Vibration Analysis of Arbitrarily Restrained Rectangular Plate with Cutouts

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2018
A modified Fourier–Ritz method is developed for the flexural and in-plane vibration analysis of plates with two rectangular cutouts with arbitrary boundary conditions, aiming to provide a unified solving process for cases that the plate has various ...
