Soft Mechanical‐Electrical Logic Using Liquid Metal‐Filled 3D‐Printed Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present 3D‐printed soft mechanical–electrical logic elements that use liquid metal–filled silicone tubes actuated by thermoplastic polyurethane/polylactic acid (TPU/PLA) architectures to produce Boolean operations. Complementary normally open and normally closed unit cells perform repeatable binary transitions and can be combined into more complex ...

In Situ Micromechanical Study of Bimodal γ′–γ″ Precipitate Assemblies in Ni–Cr–Al–Nb Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A Ni–Cr–Al–Nb superalloy with a bimodal γ′–γ″ precipitate distribution is developed. Composite precipitate assemblies form through heterogeneous nucleation, effectively impeding dislocation motion. Micropillar compression reveals high strength at room and elevated temperatures, governed by precipitate shearing, with coupled faulting mechanisms ...

基于刀具实际廓形的数控加工刀具轨迹计算

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2010
Tool path generation method is the most important and the most extensive and in-depth content for the free-form surface parts NC-machining. In the multi-axis NC-machining,tool path influences on the precision and efficiency of machining.

Research on cylindrical indexing cam’s unilateral machining

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2015
The cylindrical cam ridge of the indexer is a spatial curved surface, which is difficult to design and machine. The cylindrical cam has some defects after machining because conventional machining methods have inaccuracies.

Modeling of Convex Surface Topography in Milling Process

open access: yesMetals, 2020
Cr12MoV die steel is a typical high-strength and high-hardness material. Because of the high hardness of Cr12MoV die steel, which is approximately 50–65 HRC after quenching, and the tool’s weak rigidity, cutting vibration, and tool deformation are ...

A Novel Cutter Path Planning Approach to High Speed Machining [PDF]

open access: yesComputer-Aided Design and Applications, 2006
AbstractHigh speed machining is playing a more and more important role in modern machines shops, in particularly, in aerospace machining, mold and die machining. In high speed milling operations, a path that has the least number of sharp turns is preferred. Spiral curve is a special curve which can have no sharp turn, and the step-over between adjacent

Nondestructive Testing of Welded Composite Metal Foams

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
X‐ray computed tomography (CT) is used to evaluate welded steel–steel composite metal foam (CMF) joints of two density classes. It reports variation in postweld spatial void distribution and correlates it to weld‐induced changes, mechanical performance, and failure within welded CMF panels.

Research of the Path Optimization for the NC Planing Process of the Spur Face-gear

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2016
The principle of the NC planing process of the spur face-gear is briefly introduced, the equations of the tooth profile and the tooth cutter are derived, the mathematical relation between the tooth cutter angle and the allowance is established, and then, the

Experimental Characterization and Constitutive Modeling of the Effect of Prior Inelastic Strain on the Viscoplastic Behavior of AD730 at 700 °C

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study shows that superalloys used in aircraft engine disks become much more prone to deformation at high temperatures if they have been strained during manufacturing. This effect increases with the level of prior strain but eventually reaches a limit.
