ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

Automatic compensation of tool disturbances, caused by an unstable cutting process [PDF]
Modern machining processes are characterized by a separate functioning of the elements of technological system (TS). The cutting mode, that determines the machining efficiency, depends on the functional capability of a low-performance element, and the ...

A cut finite element method with boundary value correction
In this contribution we develop a cut finite element method with boundary value correction of the type originally proposed by Bramble, Dupont, and Thomée in [Math. Comp. 26 (1972), 869–879]. The cut finite element method is a fictitious domain method with Nitsche-type enforcement of Dirichlet conditions together with stabilization of the elements at ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Resource and energy efficiency in machining using high-performance and hybrid processes
S.3-16The main goal in manufacturing is to minimize production time, cost, energy and resources while maintaining or even improvingperformance. The main influence on process efficiency in metal cutting can be related to the machining parameters, while ...
