Using of Modified Simplex Imbeddings Method for Solving Special Class of Convex Non-Differentiable Optimization Problems

open access: yesИзвестия Иркутского государственного университета: Серия "Математика", 2015
In this paper it is considered the modified simplex imbeddings method, which is related to the class of cutting plane methods. The main feature of this method is the convergence estimation, which depends only on the quantity of simplex vertices, that are

Routing and wavelength/sub-wavelength path assignment to maximizing accommodated traffic demands on optical networks

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2016
Wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) technology transmits multiple optical communication channels in an optical fiber. Routing and wavelength assignment (RWA) problems on WDM network have widely attracted interest of many researchers.

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

A cutting plane algorithm for Modularity maximization with heuristics for separation problem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The modularity proposed by Newman and Girvan is the most commonly used measure when the nodes of a graph are grouped into communities consisting of tightly connectednodes.

Self-Phase-Matched Second-Harmonic and White-Light Generation in a Biaxial Zinc Tungstate Single Crystal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Second-order nonlinear optical materials are used to generate new frequencies by exploiting second-harmonic generation (SHG), a phenomenon where a nonlinear material generates light at double the optical frequency of the input beam.

Investigation of formation mechanisms of chips in orthogonal cutting process

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2012
This work investigates the formation mechanisms of chips in orthogonal cutting of mild steel and the transformation conditions between various morphology chips. It is supposed that the modeling material follows the Johnson-Cook constitutive model.

Uniform Illumination of Concentrated Sunlight in Photovoltaic Solar Modules With Plane-Focusing Fresnel Lenses

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2023
An algorithm has been developed for modeling the parameters of microprismatic specialized plane-focusing Fresnel lenses. Such lenses are more effective for application in photovoltaic modules compare to the traditional point-focusing Fresnel lenses for ...

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.
