A cutting force prediction model in axial ultrasonic vibration end grinding for BK7 optical glass considering protrusion height of abrasive grits

Measurement, 2021
Abstract Axial ultrasonic vibration end grinding (AUVEG) has been recognized as an efficient machining method for hard and brittle materials. In this paper, a theoretical model was proposed for predicting cutting force in AUVEG of BK7 optical glass with consideration of the nonuniform protrusion height of abrasive grits.

In-process monitoring of microscale grain protrusions by tracing impulse-discharge energy related to thermal transmission balance on diamond cutting interface

Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2021
Abstract Stable ground surface depends on abrasive grain protrusions, but it has no way to monitor the wheel topographical state during grinding. Generally, the charge coupled device (CCD) monitoring is employed to on-machine measure 2D grain protrusions, but the whole wheel micro-topography has not been recognized in-process.

Consistent Mesh Segmentation Using Protrusion Function and Graph Cut

2011 International Conference on Multimedia and Signal Processing, 2011
Partitioning a given complex 3D mesh model into some meaningful subparts is one of the fundamental problems in digital geometry processing. In this paper, we present an algorithm for decomposing an object represented in triangle meshes into components consistently. The segmentation is based on two key ideas.

Cut-Off values for PFNA nail and blade protrusion predicting postoperative pain in intertrochanteric fractures

Orthopaedics & Traumatology: Surgery & Research
Proximal femoral nail antirotation (PFNA) fixation for intertrochanteric fractures often results in nail or blade protrusion, particularly in Asian populations, and is associated with postoperative lateral hip pain. However, not all patients with protrusion experience pain.
