A comparison of Paris green with sodium fluosilicate in poison baits against the greasy cutworm, Agrotis ypsilon , and the southern grassworm, Laphygma frugiperda , indicated that Paris green is more rapid in its action and considerably more toxic, and that A. ypsilon is more easily killed than L. frugiperda .

Moisture was adequate with air temperature min-max 38°F and 75°F. Plot size was nine 30-inch rows 50 ft long. A randomized complete block experimental design was used.

Abstract Greenhouse flats were seeded 14 Sept at the rate of 55 seeds per flat, and in-furrow treatments were applied. Foliar and broadcast treatments were applied 24 Sept. Plexiglass cages (14 inches × 20 inches × 12 inches high) were placed in the greenhouse flats to minimize larval escape.

Abstract This test was conducted at the Garden City Experiment Station in Finney County, KS. The plots were 4.6m by 4.6m in a randomized complete block design with 3 replications. The plots were treated on 31 May after the first cutting of hay was removed. The variegated cutworm larvae were approximately 2.5 cm long.
