Insecticide and Acaricide Tests, 1992
Abstract Two tests were initiated to evaluate several insecticides against ACW infestations in wheat in OK. Both tests utilized a randomized complete block design with 3 replicates. Plot size was 15 × 100 ft. Insecticides were applied using a ground rig with a 15 ft boom.

Black Cutworm Prevention, 1986
Insecticide and Acaricide Tests, 1987Abstract The efficacy of 3 liquid and 4 granular insecticides applied at planting for control of a natural infestation of black cutworm were tested near Leon, Decatur Co., IA. Corn was planted into soybean residue using a strip till method. Plots were planted on 5 May at a rate of 18,000 seed/acre on 38 inch rows.

Abstract Four insecticides were evaluated for control of natural populations of the spotted cutworm in pears that were in the delayed dormant or summer stage of development. Except in one test, spray (1/2 gal/m2) was applied to the cover crop and soil surface around the tree trunk (plots ca.

A comparison of Paris green with sodium fluosilicate in poison baits against the greasy cutworm, Agrotis ypsilon , and the southern grassworm, Laphygma frugiperda , indicated that Paris green is more rapid in its action and considerably more toxic, and that A. ypsilon is more easily killed than L. frugiperda .

Insecticide and Acaricide Tests, 1989
Abstract Five insecticidal treatments were evaluated at 1 site in Montgomery County, Va., for control of various cutworm larvae in no-till field corn. Corn was planted in rows 38 inches wide on 13 May to corn stubble without cover, and a tank mix of recommended herbicides (Bicep, Princep, 2,4-D, and Paraquat) containing 30% liquid ...

Sandhill Cutworm Control, 1984
Insecticide and Acaricide Tests, 1986Abstract A locally severe outbreak of sandhill cutworm near Royalton, Mn permitted this trial. The soil type was glacial outwash sand. Moisture was adequate with air temperature min-max 38°F and 75°F. Plot size was nine 30-inch rows 50 ft long. A randomized complete block experimental design was used.

Abstract Greenhouse flats were seeded 14 Sept at the rate of 55 seeds per flat, and in-furrow treatments were applied. Foliar and broadcast treatments were applied 24 Sept. Plexiglass cages (14 inches × 20 inches × 12 inches high) were placed in the greenhouse flats to minimize larval escape.

Variegated Cutworm Control, 1985
Insecticide and Acaricide Tests, 1986Abstract This test was conducted at the Garden City Experiment Station in Finney County, KS. The plots were 4.6m by 4.6m in a randomized complete block design with 3 replications. The plots were treated on 31 May after the first cutting of hay was removed. The variegated cutworm larvae were approximately 2.5 cm long.
