Speckle Observations With PISCO in Calern (France): III. Astrometric Measurements of Visual Double Stars in 2019 and New or Revised Orbits for STT531 AB, STT77 AB, STF1338 AB, COU1746, STT260, A1109 AB, HU1291, and A632 AB

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, Volume 347, Issue 7, August 2026.
ABSTRACT We present relative astrometric measurements of visual double stars, made in 2019 with the speckle camera PISCO at the 1‐m Epsilon telescope of the C2PU facility (Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur, Calern site). Our observing list contains orbital couples as well as double stars whose motion is still uncertain.

Forecasting Coastal ENSO Warming in the Niño 1+2 Region Using ConvLSTM: Toward Improved Early Warning in Peru and Ecuador

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 62, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract Accurate forecasting of the El Niño‐Southern Oscillation (ENSO) is essential for improving regional climate resilience and managing water‐related risks. While most deep learning studies have focused on the Niño 3.4 region, the Niño 1+2 region, closely linked to extreme coastal warming associated with ENSO that impacts water infrastructure ...

Stable Isotope Analysis as a Tool to Prevent Illicit Wildlife Trade of Songbirds in Brazil

open access: yesAnimal Conservation, Volume 29, Issue 4, Page 421-431, August 2026.
Feather isotopes provide clear differences between wild and captive songbirds in Brazil. Combining multiple isotopes improved classification accuracy and revealed individuals falsely declared as captive‐bred. These results demonstrate the potential of isotope analysis to detect wildlife laundering in the bird trade.

From variant detection to interpretation in idiopathic erythrocytosis: A structured approach applied to a clinical cohort

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, Volume 209, Issue 2, Page 837-841, August 2026.
Targeted next‐generation sequencing combined with a structured interpretative framework integrating gene–disease validity, population data, computational predictions, ACMG criteria and structural modelling enabled prioritisation of rare variants in idiopathic erythrocytosis, highlighting the genetic heterogeneity and biological complexity underlying ...

Differences in gestational age at preterm birth can predict future cardiovascular events in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)

open access: yesFrontiers in Lupus
IntroductionPregnancy complications from maternal placental syndrome (MPS) are associated with the accelerated development of cardiovascular events (CVE) in the parous cohort with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

A Decade of Rainfall Manipulation Reveals Growing‐Season Aridity as a Key Determinant of Grassland Productivity and Stability

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology, Volume 32, Issue 8, August 2026.
Changing rainfall patterns and rising temperatures threaten the diversity and functioning of grassland ecosystems. Using data from a 10‐year manipulation experiment, we show that productivity is most strongly related to growing season aridity (precipitation/potential evapotranspiration, P/PET).

From CVE Entries to Verifiable Exploits: An Automated Multi-Agent Framework for Reproducing CVEs

open access: yesCoRR
High-quality datasets of real-world vulnerabilities and their corresponding verifiable exploits are crucial resources in software security research. Yet such resources remain scarce, as their creation demands intensive manual effort and deep security expertise.

Fibrinogen/albumin ratio is associated with first-ever cardiovascular events in patients with peritoneal dialysis

open access: yesAnnals of Medicine
Objective The fibrinogen/albumin ratio (FAR) is a novel inflammatory indicator, which has been associated with cardiovascular disease. However, the relationship between FAR and cardiovascular event (CVE) in patients with peritoneal dialysis (PD) remains ...

Serum IL8 is not associated with cardiovascular events but with all-cause mortality

open access: yesBMC Cardiovascular Disorders, 2019
Background The aim of this study is to investigate if IL8 levels were associated with incident cardiovascular (CV) events (CVE) and mortality (all-cause, CV, and cancer) in a cohort of 60 years old men and women from Stockholm (60YO).
