Global warming is one of the most important issues facing humanity. The depth and extent of sea-ice are clear indicators of global warming. Snow cover on sea-ice is an important variable that affects the volume of sea-ice and indirectly global warming as a whole. This paper discusses the design of snow radar.

Measurements and analysis of multistatic and multimodal micro-Doppler signatures for automatic target classification [PDF]
The purpose of this paper is to present an experimental trial carried out at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom to measure simultaneous multistatic and multimodal micro-Doppler signatures of various targets, including humans and flying UAVs ...

Subsurface CW interference radar
A new subsurface CW (continuous wave) interference radar having the great advantage of detecting a fine shallow target is presented. The horizontal location of the target submerged in a dissipative half-space may be detected easily by using the symmetry of the measured electric field pattern.

Classification of Interference Signal for Automotive Radar Systems With Convolutional Neural Network
When a radar signal generated by another vehicle arrives at an ego-vehicle, mutual interference occurs, which can seriously degrade the detection performance of the radar.

SAR: A Novel Application for FM-CW Radars [PDF]
For small-scale earth observation applications, there is a special interest in low-cost, high-resolution imaging radars small enough to be operated from small, possibly unmanned, aircraft. The combination of the compactness of FM-CW technology and the high resolution of SAR systems should result in such a small, cost-effective imaging radar.

Micro-Doppler-based in-home aided and unaided walking recognition with multiple radar and sonar systems [PDF]
The potential for using micro-Doppler signatures as a basis for distinguishing between aided and unaided gaits is considered in this paper for the purpose of characterizing normal elderly gait and assessment of patient recovery.

Design and Applications of Multi-Frequency Holographic Subsurface Radar: Review and Case Histories
Holographic subsurface radar (HSR) is not currently in widespread usage. This is due to a historical perspective in the ground-penetrating radar (GPR) community that the high attenuation of electromagnetic waves in most media of interest and the ...
