ChembiochemBiosynthesis of the class V lasso peptide gelatinamin A was elucidated by heterologous expression of the gel biosynthetic gene cluster in Bacillus subtilis. Its 3D structure was determined by NMR, and tailoring enzymes GelT and GelP were fully reconstituted in vitro.
