Cyanation of glycine derivatives

Chemical Communications, 2021
We report a catalytic oxidative C–H cyanation of glycine derivatives using a simple copper(i) catalyst with NFSI as an oxidant via a radical process to furnish α-cyano glycine derivatives.

Highly Enantioselective α‐Cyanation with 4‐Acetylphenyl Cyanate

Chemistry – A European Journal, 2017
AbstractA highly effective asymmetric version of α‐cyanation of β‐keto esters and amides was developed with a Lewis‐acid catalyst. Thus, by using 10 mol % of a tridentate bisoxazoline–zinc(II) complex as the catalyst, a series of chiral nitriles containing a quaternary carbon center were obtained in excellent enantioselectivities (up to 97 ...

Toughening of cyanate ester resins with cyanated polysulfones

Polymer, 1997
Abstract Bisphenol-A dicyanate (BADCy) resin was toughened by incorporating polysulfone (PSF) and cyanated polysulfone (CN-PSF). CN-PSF was synthesized by the bromination of PSF and cyanation. The effects of PSF content and interfacial adhesion between the matrix and the domain were investigated on the fracture toughness and morphology of BADCy/PSF ...

Acetonitrile as a Cyanating Reagent: Cu-Catalyzed Cyanation of Arenes

Organic Letters, 2015
A novel approach to the Cu-catalyzed cyanation of simple arenes using acetonitrile as an attractive cyano source has been documented. The C-H functionalization of arenes without directing groups involves a sequential iodination/cyanation to give the desired aromatic nitriles in good yields.
