Cooperative Photometallobiocatalysis: Nonheme Fe Enzyme‐Catalyzed Enantioconvergent Radical Decarboxylative Azidation, Thiocyanation, and Isocyanation of Redox‐Active Esters

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Through the directed evolution of an underexploited nonheme Fe extradiol dioxygenase, we developed a unified cooperative photobiocatalytic strategy to allow for three types of enantioconvergent radical transformations, including azidation, thiocyanation, and isocyanation.

Positive Influence of Oxalate and Cyanate on the Supercapacitance Performance of V/Co 2D-Nanolayered Structures

open access: yesInorganics, 2023
Two-dimensional (2D) nanolayered and nanohybrid structures, which are composed of different species of organic anions and multi-valence inorganic cations, are considered favorable in the field of energy storage for use as supercapacitors.

Cyanate as an energy source for nitrifiers [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 2015
Ammonia- and nitrite-oxidizing microorganisms are collectively responsible for the aerobic oxidation of ammonia via nitrite to nitrate and have essential roles in the global biogeochemical nitrogen cycle. The physiology of nitrifiers has been intensively studied, and urea and ammonia are the only recognized energy sources that promote the aerobic ...

Bis(cyanato-κN)tetrakis(2,6-dimethylpyrazine-κN4)nickel(II)

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2012
Reaction of nickel(II) chloride with sodium cyanate and 2,6-dimethylpyrazine leads to single crystals of the title compound, [Ni(NCO)2(C6H8N2)4]. The nickel(II) cation is located about a centre of inversion and is octahedrally coordinated by two cyanate ...

Direct synthesis of cyanate anion from dinitrogen catalysed by molybdenum complexes bearing pincer-type ligand

open access: yesNature Communications, 2022
Direct conversion of dinitrogen to organonitrogen compounds is a challenging goal in nitrogen fixation chemistry. Here, the authors report the catalytic formation of cyanate anion from dinitrogen under ambient conditions using a molybdenum complex.

Comparative Genomics of Thiohalobacter thiocyanaticus HRh1T and Guyparkeria sp. SCN-R1, Halophilic Chemolithoautotrophic Sulfur-Oxidizing Gammaproteobacteria Capable of Using Thiocyanate as Energy Source

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2019
The genomes of Thiohalobacter thiocyanaticus and Guyparkeria (formerly known as Halothiobacillus) sp. SCN-R1, two gammaproteobacterial halophilic sulfur-oxidizing bacteria (SOB) capable of thiocyanate oxidation via the “cyanate pathway”, have been ...

Gelam Tree-Derived Carbon Nanosheets as Thick and Free-Standing Electrode for Supercapacitor

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2021
Most electrodes for supercapacitors are prepared as thick layer electrodes. Compact, thick and free-standing electrodes are needed for supercapacitor with high volumetric capacitance and energy density.

Transcriptomic response of the picoalga Pelagomonas calceolata to nitrogen availability: new insights into cyanate lyase function

open access: yesMicrobiology Spectrum
Cyanate (OCN−) is an organic nitrogen compound found in aquatic environments potentially involved in phytoplankton growth. Given the prevalence and activity of cyanate lyase genes in eukaryotic microalgae, cyanate has been suggested as an alternative ...
