A New Modified Electrophilic Cyanation of Aromatics with Activated Aryl Cyanates
Synthetic Communications, 1992Abstract The selective cyanation of electron-rich aromatics succeeds in moderate to good yields with the activated aryl cyanates 1a-d using AlCl3/HCl. The formation of p-isomeres is preferred.

THE BLOOD CYANATES IN THE TREATMENT OF HYPERTENSION
, 1936A few years ago I gave a number of patients with hypertension potassium or sodium thiocyanate with results that were generally unsatisfactory. Some showed extreme weakness, nausea and dizziness, while an occasional one seemed to be considerably improved ...

Due to their special structural features (triazine ring, oxygen linkages, low dielectric loss) cyanate ester resins represent a promising class of high-performance polymers. They are suitable as matrix materials for applications where, among other properties, stability at high service temperatures, low dielectric loss, and good mechanical performance ...

Curing of Cyanates with Primary Amines
, 2001The reaction of 4-tert-butyl phenylcyanate and aniline was analysed with the help of HPLC, MALDI-TOF and FT-IR. It was found that the main reaction products are aryloxy- and arylamino-substituted triazines.

Is cyanate a carbonic anhydrase substracte?
Proteins: Structure, Function, and Genetics, 1997A study was undertaken to investigate whether diverse carbonic anhydrase (CA) isozymes (both native Zn as well as cobalt-substituted) are able to catalyze the hydrolysis of anions such as cyanide, cyanate, and thiocyanate. A controversy exists between the crystallographic and spectroscopic data of CA II-anion adducts.

Isocyanates and isothiocyanates are readily transformed into the corresponding symmetric N,N’-disubstituted ureas and thioureas upon treatment with pyridine-water with no formation of side products. Evidence is shown for an amine-free mechanistic pathway,

Using differential scanning calorimetry, we have investigated three difunctional cyanate monomers differing by their central group: bisphenol A dicyanate (BADCy), bisphenol E dicyanate (BEDCy), and hexafluorinated bisphenol A dicyanate (BAFDCy), to ...
