Skin Closure Techniques After Cardiac Implantable Electronic Device Implantation and Their Impact on Pocket Complications: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesAnnals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology, Volume 31, Issue 4, July 2026.
Systematic review and meta‐analysis of nine studies (1616 patients) comparing wound closure techniques after CIED implantation showed no significant differences in pocket infection, hematoma, or wound dehiscence. Adhesives, sutures, and novel devices demonstrated comparable safety, supporting technique selection based on operator preference, efficiency,

Amyloid‐β aggregates induce vasculopathy via ferroptosis in brain endothelial cells

open access: yesBrain Pathology, Volume 36, Issue 4, July 2026.
Blood–brain barrier (BBB) disruption is evident in brains with amyloidopathy. In this study, we demonstrate that amyloid β (Aβ) drives abnormal lipid metabolism and lipid droplet formation in brain endothelial cells, leading to lipid peroxidation and ferroptosis.

Seta‐Inspired Mechano‐Intelligent Janus Bandage with Coordinated Adhesion–Contraction for Minimizing Scarring

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 34, 17 June 2026.
We developed a bioinspired mechano‐intelligent Janus bandage (MIB) with a hydrophobic flat exterior and a hydrophilic interior featuring gecko‐mimicking wedged microstructures, fabricated via micromolding and anisotropic plasma treatment. The MIB dynamically synchronizes adhesion and contraction, enabling precise force modulation.

Freeform Manufacturing of Plant‐Based Structural Colors for Scalable Photonic and Mechanochromic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 35, 23 June 2026.
A green, freeform manufacturing approach that utilizes robust aqueous two‐phase systems to create intricate and scalable photonic structures and non‐planar mechanochromic hydrogel actuators from plant‐based hydroxypropyl cellulose. This approach broadens the structural possibilities of sustainable photonic devices and mechanochromic systems, offering ...

Liquids as Reinforcements for Anisotropic and Tough Soft Matter Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 33, 12 June 2026.
Liquid metal droplets are shaped and oriented within soft elastomers to create all‐soft matter composites with programmable mechanical anisotropy. These liquid inclusions act as fiber‐like reinforcements, enabling directional stiffness, enhanced toughness, and controlled crack steering under extreme deformation, offering new routes to resilient soft ...

The use of cyanoacrylates in the management of dry heel fissures: a preliminary study

open access: yes, 2010
Topical tissue adhesives have been used widely in healthcare for the closure of wounds and lacerations (Beam 2008). A recent Cochrane review (Coulthard et al 2009) has indicated the benefit of this modality over other more traditional types of closure ...

Design of Fluorinated Cyanoacrylates to Control Adhesiveness of Liquid Embolic Materials

open access: yes, 2020
학위논문(석사)--서울대학교 대학원 :공과대학 재료공학부,2020. 2. 안철희.Embolotherapy is a method of inserting a catheter into the body to block the vessel or necrosis the tissue by infusion of an embolic materials. Embolic materials are classified according to the location of the

An Implanted Tooth That Can Feel

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 32, 9 June 2026.
To endow the implanted tooth with masticatory perception, herein we demonstrate that a 3D‐printed piezoelectric‐core/robust‐sheath implanted tooth can rebuild the sensing feedback, serving as “mechanoreceptors” in converting the mechanical chewing force to electrical signals, and up to brain through surrounding alveolar nerve system.

Soft and Adhesive Cardiac Patch for Electrophysiological and Contraction Measurement

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 34, 19 June 2026.
This study developed an epicardial electronic patch with a modulus similar to that of the heart (approximately 65kPa), which can collect stable electrocardiogram signals and myocardial contractility on the surface of a dynamically beating heart. This is attributed to the hydrogen bond interaction formed between the amino and catechol groups in the ...

Operando 7Li NMR Reveals Lithium Plating and Recovery in Commercial Grade NMC811||Graphite Cells

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 9, Issue 6, June 2026.
Operando 7Li NMR is used to monitor lithium plating and graphite intercalation in fast‐charged NMC811||graphite cells at low temperature. The method resolves the evolution of lithium environments during charging and rest, enabling identification of processes associated with lithium deposition and reintercalation.
