Abstract Background and Aims Two new species of cyathealean ferns are described based on sterile and fertile frond fragments from the Cretaceous of Patagonia, Argentina. The new species are compared with other extant and extinct cyathealean ferns in Dicksoniaceae and Thyrsopteridaceae.
