A biflavanone from Cycas beddomei
Phytochemistry, 2000A new biflavanone, 7,7"-di-O-methyltetrahydrohinokiflavone together with tetrahydrohinokiflavone were isolated from the stems of Cycas beddomei. The structures were established on the basis of spectral and chemical studies.

Cycasin Content of Cycas circinalis
Nature, 1965RECENTLY, scientific interest in the toxicity of cycads has been stimulated by recognition of the high incidence of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in Guam and the Mariana islands1. In the course of the search for possible aetiological agents and toxic substances responsible for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, it was found that nuts of Cycas circinalis ...

Eco-evolutionary evidence for the global diversity pattern of Cycas (Cycadaceae).
Journal of Integrative Plant BiologyThe evolution of the latitudinal diversity gradient (LDG), characterized by a peak in diversity toward the tropics, has captured significant attention in evolutionary biology and ecology.

Endogenously formed coralloid roots in living cycads are known to be infected and maintained by a mutual partnership with photosynthetic cyanobacteria. In this study, two strains of filamentous, nitrogen-fixing endosymbiotic cyanobacteria from the green ...

Lectotypification of Cycas beddomei (Cycadaceae)
Phytotaxa, 2018During the revision of Indian cycads, we attempted to consult type specimens of the endangered species, Cycas beddomei(1883: 85) and in the process realized there has been a great deal of confusion in previous literature regarding the syntypes of this species.

Nonprotein amino acids from Cycas revoluta
Phytochemistry, 1997Two nonprotein amino acids, cycasindene and cycasthioamide, along with eight known nonprotein amino acids, were isolated from the seeds of Cycas revoluta Thunb. The structures of cycasindene and cycasthioamide were elucidated as 3-[3'-amino-indenyl-2]-alanine (1) and N-[glycinyl-alaninyl-11-thio]-5-one-pipecolic acid (2) by chemical and spectral ...
