Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Offshore wind is generally stronger and more consistent than wind on land. A large part of the offshore wind resource is however located in deep water, where floating wind turbines can harvest more energy. This paper describes a systematic experiment and

Codes over Matrix Rings for Space-Time Coded Modulations
It is known that, for transmission over quasi-static MIMO fading channels with n transmit antennas, diversity can be obtained by using an inner fully diverse space-time block code while coding gain, derived from the determinant criterion, comes from an ...

Cyclic LRC codes, binary LRC codes, and upper bounds on the distance of cyclic codes [PDF]
We consider linear cyclic codes with the locality property, or locally recoverable codes (LRC codes). A family of LRC codes that generalize the classical construction of Reed-Solomon codes was constructed in a recent paper by I. Tamo and A. Barg (IEEE Trans. Inform. Theory, no. 8, 2014).

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Structures, Ranks and Minimal Distances of Cyclic Codes over
Let p be a prime and Fp a finite field of order p. This paper investigates cyclic codes over the ring Rp2,u=Zp2+uZp2 of order p4, where the nilpotent element u satisfies u2=0 and pu≠0.

Decoding of Repeated-Root Cyclic Codes up to New Bounds on Their Minimum Distance
The well-known approach of Bose, Ray-Chaudhuri and Hocquenghem and its generalization by Hartmann and Tzeng are lower bounds on the minimum distance of simple-root cyclic codes. We generalize these two bounds to the case of repeated-root cyclic codes and

Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Low-complexity quantum codes designed via codeword-stabilized framework
We consider design of the quantum stabilizer codes via a two-step, low-complexity approach based on the framework of codeword-stabilized (CWS) codes. In this framework, each quantum CWS code can be specified by a graph and a binary code.

On the decomposition of cyclic codes into cyclic classes
The problem of finding the cycle representatives of a cyclic code is examined. For an (n, k) cyclic code whose parity check polynomial h(x) consists entirely of factors with exponent n, a complete set of representatives is obtained. Further, if the exponents of the factors of h(x) are relatively prime to each other, a complete set can also be generated.
