SmallTalk: a novel small‐sized fusion tag for peptide expression and purification

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The SmallTalk fusion tag allows for the efficient expression and purification of soluble recombinant proteins or peptides in Escherichia coli. Testing with SmallTalk‐GFP confirmed that the proteins were soluble and folded correctly, while SmallTalk‐Bin1b maintained its antimicrobial activity against various bacterial isolates. This streamlined workflow

The role of lipid metabolism in neuronal senescence

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Disrupted lipid metabolism, through alterations in lipid species or lipid droplet accumulation, can drive neuronal senescence. However, lipid dyshomeostasis can also occur alongside neuronal senescence, further amplifying tissue damage. Delineating how lipid‐induced senescence emerges in neurons and glial cells, and how it contributes to ageing and ...

Improving the Accuracy of Direction of Arrival Estimation with Multiple Signal Inputs Using Deep Learning

open access: yesSensors
In this paper, an innovative cyclic noise reduction method and an improved CAPON algorithm (also the called minimum variance distortionless response (MVDR) algorithm) are proposed to improve the accuracy and reliability of DOA (direction of arrival ...

Patterns of Postictal Abnormalities in Relation to Status Epilepticus in Adults

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Abnormalities on peri‐ictal diffusion‐weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DWI‐PMAs) are well‐established for patients with status epilepticus (SE), but knowledge on patterns of DWI‐PMAs and their prognostic impact is sparse. Methods This systematic review and individual participant data meta‐analysis included observational studies ...

Simulation study of beam-beam effects

open access: yesPhysical Review Special Topics. Accelerators and Beams, 2005
The Beijing Electron-Positron Collider (BEPC) will be upgraded to BEPCII, and the luminosity will be about 100 times higher. We developed a three-dimensional strong-strong PIC code to study the beam-beam effects in BEPCII.

Dissociative Electron Transfer to Diphenyl-Substituted Bicyclic Endoperoxides: The Effect of Molecular Structure on the Reactivity of Distonic Radical Anions and Determination of Thermochemical Parameters

open access: yesMolecules, 2014
The heterogeneous electron transfer reduction of the bicyclic endoperoxide 1,4-diphenyl-2,3-dioxabicyclo[2.2.1]hept-5-ene (4) was investigated in N,N-dimethylformamide  at a glassy carbon electrode.

Development of a Prediction Model for Progression Risk in High‐Grade Gliomas Based on Habitat Radiomics and Pathomics

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To investigate the value of constructing models based on habitat radiomics and pathomics for predicting the risk of progression in high‐grade gliomas. Methods This study conducted a retrospective analysis of preoperative magnetic resonance (MR) images and pathological sections from 72 patients diagnosed with high‐grade gliomas (52 ...

Functional and Structural Evidence of Neurofluid Circuit Aberrations in Huntington Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Disrupted neurofluid regulation may contribute to neurodegeneration in Huntington disease (HD). Because neurofluid pathways influence waste clearance, inflammation, and the distribution of central nervous system (CNS)–delivered therapeutics, understanding their dysfunction is increasingly important as targeted treatments emerge.
