Aqueous Two‐Phase Bioinks for Discrete Packing and Compartmentalization of 3D Bioprinted Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Aqueous two‐phase systems (ATPS) enable the formation of biomimetic interfaces crucial for tissue engineering. However, clinical translation remains limited by the challenge of precisely controlling cellular compartmentalization. Here, we developed ATPS biomaterial inks for 3D bioprinting allowing tuneable droplet formation via NaCl modulation.

An assessment of the dynamic properties of Adapazari soils by cyclic direct simple shear tests

open access: yes, 2020
17 Ağustos 1999 Kocaeli Depreminde (Mw 7.4) ağır hasar gören şehirlerden Adapazarı saha koşullarının hasar dağılımı ile belirgin ilişkisi ile bilinmektedir. Kuvvetli yer hareketi kaydının sadece bir kaya sahada alınması sebebi ile, hasar ve yer hareketi parametreleri arasındaki ilişkiyi inceleyen çalışmalarda öncelikle alüvyon basenin tepkisi tahmin ...

An endochronic theory for transversely isotropic fibrous composites [PDF]

open access: yes
A rational methodology of modelling both nonlinear and elastic dissipative response of transversely isotropic fibrous composites is developed and illustrated with the aid of the observed response of graphite-polyimide off-axis coupons. The methodology is

Advanced 3D Platforms for Modeling CNS Neuroinflammation: Cell Integration, Techniques, and Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the roles of key central nervous system cell types, the extracellular matrix, and the blood‐brain barrier in neuroinflammation, and their integration into diverse 3D culture systems. It examines major incorporation strategies, including direct co‐culture, hydrogel encapsulation, transwell migration assays, and bioprinting ...

Current status of turbulent dynamo theory: From large-scale to small-scale dynamos

open access: yes, 2012
Several recent advances in turbulent dynamo theory are reviewed. High resolution simulations of small-scale and large-scale dynamo action in periodic domains are compared with each other and contrasted with similar results at low magnetic Prandtl numbers.

Development of a Synthetic Hydrogel to Foster Microvascularization of an Endometriosis Microphysiological System

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The ascent of novel alternative methods in drug development spotlights the dual needs for improved biological fidelity to in vivo, along with reproducibility, especially in regulatory applications. The need for pre‐clinical models of patient‐derived endometriosis lesions motivates the development of a vascularizable, completely synthetic ...

Bioengineered 3D hPSC‐Cholangiocyte Ducts With Physiological Signals for Biliary Disease Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Tian and colleagues generated a bioengineered bile duct from human pluripotent stem cell (hPSC)‐derived intrahepatic cholangiocytes within a high‐throughput, 384‐well platform to systematically examine the influence of biliary physiological signals including fluid flow, stromal cells and bile acids, and models intrahepatic biliary disease progression ...

Magnetorotational dynamo chimeras. The missing link to turbulent accretion disk dynamo models?

open access: yes, 2016
In Keplerian accretion disks, turbulence and magnetic fields may be jointly excited through a subcritical dynamo process involving the magnetorotational instability (MRI).
