Non Cyclic Electron Transport and Photophosphorylation in Rhodospirillum Rubrum Chromatohores

1972
The light-induced reduction of NAD+ by various electron donors in R.rubrum chromatophores was shown to be inhibited by the addition of ADP+Pi or uncouplers (FRENKEL 1958, ASH et al. 1961, Horio et al. 1963, VERNON 1963, KEISTER & YIKE 1967, GROMET-ELHANAN 1969).

Cyclic Electron Transport Around Photosystem I in Washed Thylakoids

1987
Cyclic electron flow around photosystem I has been shown to contribute to the buildup of transmembrane electric field and proton gradient in isolated intact chloroplasts, in the whole leaf and in reconstituted systems (1–5). Different reaction routes have been proposed for cyclic electron flow occurring under various experimental conditions; ferredoxin,

Irrungen, Wirrungen? The Mehler reaction in relation to cyclic electron transport in C3 plants

Photosynthesis Research, 2002
Plants not only evolve but also reduce oxygen in photosynthesis. Considerable oxygen uptake occurs during photorespiration of C3 plants. Controversies exist on whether direct oxygen reduction in the Mehler reaction together with associated electron transport is also a major sink of electrons when leaves are exposed to sunlight.

Central role of cyclic electron transport around photosystem I in the regulation of photosynthesis

Current Opinion in Biotechnology, 2014
Cyclic electron transport around photosystem I generates ATP without the accumulation of NADPH in chloroplasts. In angiosperms, electron transport consists of a PGR5-PGRL1 protein-dependent pathway and a chloroplast NADH dehydrogenase-like complex-dependent pathway.

The Involvement of Ferredoxin-NADP Reductase in the Photosynthetic Cyclic Electron Transport.

Sheng wu hua xue yu sheng wu wu li xue bao Acta biochimica et biophysica Sinica
As an inhibitor of ferredoxin-NADP reductase (FNR), heparin strongly inhibited the Fd-mediated photoreduction of NADP in spinach thylakoids at very low concentration (micromole), and also inhibited the delayed light emission induced by Fd/NADP. Under anaerobic conditions, when DCMU was present to block electron transfer from photosystem II, the Fd ...
