Asymptotic performance analysis of cyclic detectors

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1999
Summary: The paper deals with the analytical evaluation of the asymptotic detection and false-alarm probabilities of multicycle and single-cycle detectors operating in additive white Gaussian noise with unknown and nonrandom spectral level, which are based on the cyclostationarity properties of the signal to be intercepted.

Performance evaluation of cyclic polyspectrum estimators

[1992] Conference Record of the Twenty-Sixth Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems & Computers, 2003
Results of analysis and computer simulations are used to compare two methods of estimating the cyclic polyspectrum. The computational requirements of the two methods are determined and compared. A cycle leakage phenomenon is explained and it is shown that, for a given amount of data, only one of the two methods can be modified to reduce this leakage ...

Cyclic Performance Fluctuation of TCP BBR

2018 IEEE 42nd Annual Computer Software and Applications Conference (COMPSAC), 2018
TCP congestion control algorithm takes an important role in communication throughput. The CUBIC TCP [5] has been widely used in the last decade, especially in server computers. In 2016, the TCP BBR [1] was proposed and some reports showed that the TCP BBR could provide better performance than the CUBIC TCP. In this paper, we evaluate the throughputs of

Cyclic dependencies in modular performance analysis

Proceedings of the 8th ACM international conference on Embedded software, 2008
The Modular Performance Analysis based on Real-Time Calculus (MPA-RTC), developed by Thiele et al., is an abstraction for the analysis of component-based real-time systems. The formalism uses an abstract stream model to characterize both workload and availability of computation and communication resources.

Signal interception: performance advantages of cyclic-feature detectors

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1992
The problem of detecting the presence of spread-spectrum phase-shift-keyed signals in variable noise and interference backgrounds is considered, and the performances of four detectors are evaluated and compared. The detectors include the optimum radiometer, the optimum modified radiometer that jointly estimates the noise level and detects the signal ...

Filter Performance with Cyclic Flow

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1986
<div class="htmlview paragraph">A multipass test bench was used to illustrate the effects of variable flow on particle retention and provide a non-mathematical picture of this complex phenomenon. The relative influence of the duty cycle, the amount of dirt in the element, and the efficiency and physical makeup of the media provide a qualitative ...

Cyclic Performance of Composite Bracing Members

2011
In seismic regions, steel tubular bracing members have widely been used in steel structures. Although there are some shortages with such systems, due to their economical advantages, they are being used in many structures.  The steel hollow brace members exhibit stable hysteretic behavior up to the point of first local buckling, and subsequently they ...

The cyclic fatigue of high-performance fibers

JOM, 2005
High-performance fibers are virtually ubiquitous in our everyday lives. In a variety of structural applications, fibers and fiber-reinforced composites are subjected to cyclic mechanical loading. This paper reviews the fatigue behavior of some common high-performance fibers such as polymer, metal, and ceramic fibers.

Modular performance analysis of cyclic dataflow graphs

Proceedings of the seventh ACM international conference on Embedded software, 2009
Applications for parallel and distributed embedded systems are often specified as dataflow graphs with dependency cycles. Examples of corresponding models of computation are marked graphs or synchronous dataflow (SDF) graphs. Performance analysis is often used in the exploration of different implementation alternatives or in order to provide guarantees

Motor design slip performance on cyclic loads

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 1990
Cyclic loads such as eccentric pumping units cause a varying torque on the driver. Determination of the most efficient induction motor for the load is discussed. Ultrahigh-slip motors as well as NEMA (National Electric Manufacturers Association) design motors are evaluated. Comparisons of operating costs and investments are presented.
