Improving the Performance of LP Decoders for Cyclic Codes

2009 IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2009
Recently, a linear programming (LP) decoder has been introduced for binary linear codes. Although the performance of an LP decoder has a close relationship with the form of the parity check matrix (or equivalently with the Tanner graph) of the code, there is no clear approach to choosing a suitable form for LP decoding.

Signal interception: performance advantages of cyclic-feature detectors

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1992
The problem of detecting the presence of spread-spectrum phase-shift-keyed signals in variable noise and interference backgrounds is considered, and the performances of four detectors are evaluated and compared. The detectors include the optimum radiometer, the optimum modified radiometer that jointly estimates the noise level and detects the signal ...

Performance of Cyclic Delay Diversity in Ricean Channels

2007
Cyclic delay diversity (CDD) provides additional diversity in Rayleigh fading channels, and therefore, improves system performance. For line-of-sight (LOS) propagation, e.g. the additive white Gaussian noise channel, the implementation of CDD yields to a performance loss.

The cyclic fatigue of high-performance fibers

JOM, 2005
High-performance fibers are virtually ubiquitous in our everyday lives. In a variety of structural applications, fibers and fiber-reinforced composites are subjected to cyclic mechanical loading. This paper reviews the fatigue behavior of some common high-performance fibers such as polymer, metal, and ceramic fibers.

Filter Performance with Cyclic Flow

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1986
<div class="htmlview paragraph">A multipass test bench was used to illustrate the effects of variable flow on particle retention and provide a non-mathematical picture of this complex phenomenon. The relative influence of the duty cycle, the amount of dirt in the element, and the efficiency and physical makeup of the media provide a qualitative ...

An analysis of combined cyclic heat treatment performance

Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2004
The strengthening of AISI 4140 steel by cyclic heat treatment has been investigated. The applied cyclic heat treatment was consisted of both, temperature cycling with diffusional transformation and double quenching with diffusionless transformation.

Performance evaluation of cyclic polyspectrum estimators

[1992] Conference Record of the Twenty-Sixth Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems & Computers, 2003
Results of analysis and computer simulations are used to compare two methods of estimating the cyclic polyspectrum. The computational requirements of the two methods are determined and compared. A cycle leakage phenomenon is explained and it is shown that, for a given amount of data, only one of the two methods can be modified to reduce this leakage ...

On the Performance of Cyclically Adjusted Valuation Measures

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2013
We confirm the effectiveness of using cyclically-adjusted valuation metrics to identify high performing stocks. The Shiller P/E, or cyclically-adjusted price-to-earnings (CAPE) ratio, is not the optimal way to implement a cyclically-adjusted value measure.

Performance of relay cyclic delay diversity in multicarrier system

2009 IEEE 20th International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2009
In this paper, the performance of a cooperative relaying scheme with cyclic delay diversity (CDD) for an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system is investigated. The system under consideration consists of multiple single-antenna terminals acting as relays and cooperating to provide spatial diversity.

Cyclic delay diversity performance in OFDMA based system

2008 14th European Wireless Conference, 2008
In this paper, we aim to provide an analytical modeling of cyclic delay diversity in an OFDMA based system. Cyclic delay diversity is a low complexity spatial diversity scheme where multiple transmit antennas transmit delayed versions the same signal.
