Cyclic strain resistance and cyclic fracture behaviour of 2124 aluminium alloy
International Journal of Fatigue, 1993Abstract In this paper, the cyclic strain resistance and cyclic fracture behaviour of aluminium alloy 2124 are examined. Test specimens of the alloy were cycled using tension-compression loading, under total strain control, over a range of plastic strains giving less than 10 4 cycles to failure. The alloy displayed hardening in both the longitudinal

Complete characterization of channel-resistant DMT with cyclic prefix
IEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2003We provide a complete characterization of discrete multitone transmission (DMT) systems that employ a cyclic prefix redundancy and that can be equalized by a bank of one-tap equalizers in each subchannel, for almost all values of channel parameters. We show that among all possible finite-impulse response transmitting and receiving filters of arbitrary ...

Resistance of Sand to Cyclic Loading
1996Abstract Prior to shaking by an earthquake, an element of saturated soil under level ground has undergone a long-term consolidation process under Ko conditions. This soil element is subjected undrained to a sequence of shear stress cycles during an earthquake as illustrated in Fig. 10.l(a).

Electrical resistivity of cyclically deformed tungsten
Scripta Metallurgica, 1977Resistometric studies on powder metallurgical tungsten wires cyclically deformed by torsion at room temperature are reported. In spite of the quite high crack propagation rate in tungsten, the concentration of fatigue induced lattice defects is shown to be comparable in tungsten and copper. (GHT)

Electrical resistivity of cyclically deformed copper
Czechoslovak Journal of Physics, 1969The change of the electrical resistivity of copper cyclically deformed in torsion at room temperature and in liquid nitrogen was measured. The fatigue life, hardening and the increments of resistivity of specimens deformed at the two temperatures differed appreciably.

Enterococcal resistance to vancomycin and related cyclic glycopeptide antibiotics
European Journal of Clinical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases, 1990Enterococci belonging to various species resistant to vancomycin and related cyclic glycopeptide antibiotics have been isolated from hospitalized patients in France, the UK and the USA. All such strains examined display inducible synthesis of a membrane protein associated with resistance.

The Resistance of Metals to Cyclic Deformation
1970Fatigue behavior of metals is reviewed with particular emphasis on those properties and parameters which relate to cyclic deformation resistance. Representative data for aluminum-, titanium-, and nickel-base alloys and steels strengthened by various processes are presented to illustrate procedures for characterizing cycle-dependent deformation and ...

Cyclic Shear Resistance of Noncohesive Soils
Journal of the Geotechnical Engineering Division, 1980The cyclic shear resistance of anisotropically consolidated soil is examined with the aid of stress path vecotors in a \ip-\iq stress diagram. It is shown that the current definition of full or 100% pore-pressure ratio is adequate only for conditions of isotropic consolidation.

An Anisotropic Clay Plasticity Model for the Cyclic Resistance
2021In this paper, an advanced critical state compatible Bounding Surface (BS) plasticity model for the cyclic response of clays is developed based on a prior version of a Simple Anisotropic CLAY plasticity (SANICLAY) model. With the proposed model, named SANICLAY-BS and abbreviated as S-BS, it is possible to capture the presence of a cyclic stress ...
