Electrochemistry of Zr (IV) in molten LiCl–KCl–K2ZrF6 System

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2018
The electrochemical behaviors of Zr (IV) in the molten LiCl–KCl–K2ZrF6 system were investigated on tungsten and copper electrodes at 993 K respectively.

Cyclic steps on ice

open access: yesCyclic steps on ice
Boundary waves often form at the interface between ice and fluid flowing adjacent to it, such as ripples under river ice covers, and steps on the bed of supraglacial meltwater channels. They may also be formed by wind, such as the megadunes on the Antarctic ice sheet. Spiral troughs on the polar ice caps of Mars have been interpreted to be cyclic steps

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Defects in Rhizobial Cyclic Glucan and Lipopolysaccharide Synthesis Alter Legume Gene Expression During Nodule Development

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions, 2008
cDNA array technology was used to compare transcriptome profiles of Lotus japonicus roots inoculated with a Mesorhizobium loti wild-type and two mutant strains affected in cyclic β(1-2) glucan synthesis (cgs) and in lipopolysaccharide synthesis (lpsβ2 ...

Quantum, cyclic and particle-exchange heat engines

open access: yes, 2004
Differences between the thermodynamic behavior of the three-level amplifier (a quantum heat engine based on a thermally pumped laser) and the classical Carnot cycle are usually attributed to the essentially quantum or discrete nature of the former.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Protocol for preparing cyclic-phospholipid decanoate and glyceryl-didecanoate-phosphate-containing vesicles

open access: yesSTAR Protocols
Summary: Cyclic-phospholipids-based vesicles can play a role in facilitating the chemical evolution of protocells from the structurally simple to the functionally more complex form.

Electron Transfer and Electron Excitation Processes in 2,5‐Diaminoterephthalate Derivatives with Broad Scope for Functionalization

open access: yesChemistryOpen, 2019
Derivatives of 2,5‐diaminoterephthalate (DAT) are efficient fluorescence dyes that are also redox‐active, thus allowing for the electrochemical manipulation of spectral properties.

On a nonlinear inverse problem in viscoelasticity

open access: yesVietnam Journal of Mechanics, 2009
We consider an inverse problem for determining an inhomogeneity in a viscoelastic body of the Zener type, using Cauchy boundary data, under cyclic loads at low frequency.

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...
