A simple method for the determination of sensitivity to density changes in sand liquefaction

open access: yesOpen Geomechanics, 2021
Fully saturated loose coarse-grained soils are known to be prone to liquefaction. Conventional laboratory tests for soil liquefaction include usually cyclic testing in triaxial apparatus.

A constitutive model for unsaturated cemented soils under cyclic loading [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
On the basis of plastic bounding surface model, the damage theory for structured soils and unsaturated soil mechanics, an elastoplastic model for unsaturated loessic soils under cyclic loading has been elaborated.

Experimental study on the cyclic resistance of a natural loess from Northern France [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In order to analyze the instability phenomenon observed along the Northern High Speed Line of R\'eseau Ferr\'e de France (RFF), soil blocks were taken at a site near the railway, at four different depths (1.2, 2.2, 3.5 and 4.9 m).

Calibration of an elastoplastic model of sand liquefaction using the swarm intelligence with a multi-objective function

open access: yesJournal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, 2023
According to post-seismic observations, spectacular examples of engineering failures can be ascribed to the occurrence of sand liquefaction, where a sandy soil stratum could undergo a transient loss of shear strength and even behave as a “liquid ...

Research on micro-influence mechanism of fine particles on dynamic characteristics of graded macadam materials in heavy-haul railway subgrade beds

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials, 2023
Fine particle content is an important physical state parameter of graded macadam materials used in heavy-haul railway subgrade beds. Understanding the micro-influence mechanism of the fine particle content on the filler’s dynamical characteristics is of ...

Self‐Powered Flexible Triboelectric‐Gated Ion‐Gel Transistor for Neuromorphic Tactile Sensing and Human Activity Recognition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A fully flexible ion‐gel‐gated graphene‐channel transistor driven by a triboelectric nanogenerator enables self‐powered tactile sensing and synaptic learning. Mimicking spike‐rate‐dependent plasticity, the device exhibits frequency‐selective potentiation and depression, supporting rate‐coded neuromorphic computation even under flex.

Evolution of the Damping Ratio Considering Cyclic Confining Pressure Under Intermittent Cyclic Loading

open access: yesBuildings
The damping ratio is essential to conducting dynamic analysis for underground engineering under traffic loading. Variations in the damping ratio are usually studied using cyclic triaxial tests with continuous cyclic loading; however, intermittent loading
