Cyclic nucleotides

Phytochemistry, 2004
The natural occurrence of cyclic nucleotides in higher plants, formerly a topic of fierce debate, is now established, as is the presence of nucleotidyl cyclases and cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterases capable of their synthesis and breakdown. Here we describe the significant properties of cyclic nucleotides, also outlining their second messenger ...

Cyclic Peptoids

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2007
Foldamers are an intriguing family of biomimetic oligomers that exhibit a propensity to adopt stable secondary structures. N-Substituted glycine oligomers, or "peptoids", are a prototypical example of these foldamer systems and are known to form a helix resembling that of polyproline type I.

CYCLIC VOMITING

Pediatrics, 1960
RECURRENT vomiting in children has always been a difficult problem for diagnosis and treatment. The syndrome termed "cyclic vomiting", defined by Gee in 1882 as recurrent bouts of unexplained vomiting in children, has lacked careful documentation of clinical course and eventual prognosis. The report by Hoyt and Stickler on cyclic vomiting in this issue

Cyclic Biamperometry

Analytical Chemistry, 2010
Cyclic biamperometry has been investigated as a method for the quantitation of one form of a reversibly electroactive redox couple in the presence of the other form, using the ferri-ferrocyanide couple in aqueous KCl. A triangular voltage waveform applied across two equal-area, planar gold electrodes yields peak currents that depend on the square root ...

Cyclic Differences

The Mathematical Gazette, 1948
If we take any integral number, and suppose it written round the circumference of a circle, it is possible to form differences by subtracting each digit from its neighbour on the right. If the result is negative, 10 is added to bring the answer positive. The second and successive differences may be formed similarly.

Cyclic Pentagons

The Mathematical Gazette, 1952
Typical cyclic configurations of five-bar linkages are shown in Figs. 1, 2, 3, 4. It is proposed to solve the problem of finding all the cyclic configurations of a five-bar linkage of which the lengths of the bars are given. It will be shown that the solution depends upon an equation of the seventh degree which can be expressed in a very simple form.
