The non‐focused nanosecond pulsed laser irradiation of aromatic liquids produces amorphous carbon nanodots (CNDs) or curved‐graphene quantum dots (c‐GQDs) by surface‐catalyzed 0‐order reactions under kinetic control. C hybridization partially changes from sp2 to sp3. O‐based groups passivate the surface.

Hyperspectral Fluorescence Imaging with a New Polarity‐Ultrasensitive Fluorescent Probe
Based on the critical role of the π‐spacer in determining wavelength sensitivity to microenvironmental polarity, a new fluorescent probe, Lipi‐PS is rationally developed, which exhibits the highest polarity‐sensitivity so far. Its integration with hyperspectral fluorescence imaging enables multiscale polarity mapping across cells, tissues, and ...

Highly robust polymeric microspheres with efficient ultralong organic phosphorescence, dual‐mode organic afterglow, and persistent fluorescence are developed by embedding different organic luminogens into melamine‐formaldehyde polymer matrices. Their organic afterglow quantum yields and lifetimes are up to 18.0% and 1.39 s under ambient conditions ...

A Failed Encounter in Mathematics and Chemistry: The Folded Models of van ‘t Hoff and Sachse [PDF]
Three-dimensional material models of molecules were used throughout the 19th century, either functioning as a mere representation or opening new epistemic horizons. In this paper, two case studies are examined: the 1875 models of van ‘t Hoff and the 1890

Synthesis of Functional Materials Using N‐heterocyclic Amines Beyond Melamine
Melamine has long enabled supramolecular assemblies, polymers, and carbon nitrides, yet related N‐heterocyclic amines remain underexplored. This review highlights advances with melamine analogues such as 6‐phenyl‐, 6‐methyl‐triazine diamines and 2,4,6‐triaminopyrimidine, focusing on how structural variation governs reactivity, condensation, and ...
