Failure analysis of centre support bevel gear of an aeroengine

open access: yes, 2005
The centre support bevel gear of an aeroengine has failed by fatigue. The fatigue crack had initiated at the tooth root radius region, propagated progressively over about 70% cross section before culminating in an overload failure.
