Visible‐Light Mediated Activation of 1,3‐Dienes and Allenes via Energy Transfers

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 31, Issue 67, December 1, 2025.
Nature has inspired chemists to develop photocatalytic processes that harness visible light, offering alternative reaction pathways beyond traditional thermal methods. Energy Transfer (EnT) is a particularly promising strategy, enabling transformations such as isomerization, deracemization, cycloadditions, and cascade reactions.

Predictable close-packing similarities between cis- and trans-2-hydroxy-1-cyclooctanecarboxylic acids and trans-2-hydroxy-1-cyclooctanecarboxamide

open access: yes, 2002
In order to extend the experimental data already available on the close packing of cyclopentanes substituted with vicinal COX (X = OH, NH2) and OH groups to the analogous cyclohexanes, cycloheptanes and cyclooctanes, (1R*,2S*)-cis-2-hydroxy-1 ...

Characterization of Bubbles and Antibubbles Interfaces Stabilized Using Pickering Particles With Different Wetting Properties

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Lipid Science and Technology, Volume 127, Issue 12, December 2025.
GRAPHICAL ABSTRACT Preparation of W/O/W double emulsions using hydrophobic silica (R972) and maltodextrin. A primary W/O emulsion is formed via homogenization and ultrasound and then re‐emulsified in an outer aqueous phase. The final emulsion is freeze‐dried for 1 day to obtain structured antibubbles.

Monoterpenoids from Artemisia austriaca essential oil disrupt hormone‐mediated reserve mobilization to suppress Avena fatua seed germination

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 10, Page 6911-6927, October 2025.
Terpenoid compounds from the essential oil of Artemisia austriaca, particularly camphor and 1,8‐cineole, infiltrate seed tissues and impede the germination of Avena fatua (wild oat) seeds by disrupting gibberellic acid and abscisic acid levels, as well as inhibiting critical enzymes involved in starch, lipid and protein metabolism.

Synergistic Enhancement in Gas Hydrate Stability with Hybrid Promoters: A Step Toward Sustainable Hydrate‐Based Energy Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 12, Issue 16, August 18, 2025.
This study introduces the concept of ‘hybrid promoters (HP),’ which refers to specific combinations of two thermodynamic promoters (P1 and P2) that synergistically enhance the stability of gas hydrates. Abstract Natural gas still constitutes a substantial portion of global energy demand, necessitating the development of more sustainable, economical ...

Advances in Ligand‐Driven Pd‐Catalyzed C─H Functionalizations: Recent Insights and Updates

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 17, Issue 15, August 7, 2025.
The most significant advances in ligand‐driven Pd‐catalyzed organic synthesis over the past two years are presented. Processes involving C─H activation of substrates, avoiding their prefunctionalization are illustrated. Both the activity and selectivity of the catalyst depend on the design of the ligands (pyridones, pyridines, amino acids, phosphines ...

Dominance number on cyclooctane chains

open access: yesVojnotehnicki glasnik
Introduction/purpose: Chemical structures are conveniently represented by graphs where atoms are nodes (vertices) and chemical bonds are branches (lines) in the graph. A graphical representation of a molecule provides a lot of useful information about the chemical properties of the molecule. It is known that numerous physical and chemical properties of
