Routine Production of 89Zr Using an Automated Module

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2013
89Zr has emerged as a useful radioisotope for targeted molecular imaging via positron emission tomography (PET) in both animal models and humans. This isotope is particularly attractive for cancer research because its half-life (t1/2 = 3.27 days) is well-

Experimental nuclear physics research using the cyclotron at VECC

open access: yes, 2018
The cyclotron at Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre (VECC), Kolkata, has recentlyrecently completed its 40 years of operation in 2017. During the past four decades, VECC has been able to cross several milestones in exploring the properties of nuclei with ...

Sonified Signals From a Compact FT‐ICR Instrument: A Feasibility Study. I—Data Mapping to an Equal‐Tempered Chromatic Scale

open access: yesRapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Rationale Ions trapped within a Penning cell (ICR) travel periodic orbits whose frequencies are dependent on their mass‐to‐charge ratio and the value of the magnetic field passing through the trap. Fourier transformation (FT‐ICR) decomposes the signal induced in the detection circuit by the rotation of the ions in the cell after the ...

A Precise Beam Dynamics Model of the PSI Injector 2 to Estimate the Intensity Limit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We describe a precise beam dynamics model of the production set up of the Injector 2 Cyclotron at the Paul Scherrer Institut (PSI). Injector 2 is a 72 MeV separate-sector cyclotron producing a high intensity proton beam up to 3 mA CW, which is then ...

2D van der Waals System Integrated with Targeting Radio‐Diagnostic and Imaging Functions

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Layered double hydroxide (LDH) nanoplates were engineered for tumor‐targeted imaging and therapy. By exploiting folate receptor (FR) expression levels, the system achieves selective tumor accumulation and high‐resolution dual PET/fluorescence (PET/FL) imaging.

Rounded Monodisperse Fluorescent Nanodiamonds

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Nanodiamond (ND) shape control using rapid molten‐nitrate etching is studied as a scale‐up method for monodispersed rounded particles. Optimal etching condition (567°C for 6 min) yields NDs with atomically stepped surfaces and reduced sp2 content. Compared to angular control, rounded NDs exhibit an increased proportion of luminescent particles (66% vs.

Large‐Scale Applications of Plasma Technologies: Progresses and Challenges

open access: yesHigh Voltage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Plasma technologies convert electrical power into energetic electrons, ions, reactive species, radiation and heat, thereby breaking through the bottleneck of purely thermal or chemical routes and bringing impressive changes to our world. This roadmap reviews the progress and challenges of plasma technologies from a large‐scale and application ...
